Chester smiled weakly, snuggling back into him.

Jayden leaned his head on his shoulders, sighing softly.

Chester hugged him close.

Jayden held him, trying not to notice how tight Chester was holding him.

Chester sighed into his shirt.

Jayden sighed. "I'm so sorry." He mumbled.

'It's not your fault.'

"I know. I still feel bad."

'Why?'

"Because if it weren't for me being upset about you being a phoenix, you wouldn't have done any of this."

'I don't blame you for being upset, love. I would've gone mad eventually. It wouldn't have ended well or either of us,' Chester mumbled. 'It's better this than hurting you.'

"But it's hurting you." Jayden mumbled, looking down at the floor.

'Better me than you,' Chester said.

"No it isn't. I want you to be happy, not just trying to make me happy."

'Love, I'm fine. It's just a bit scary,' Chester said quietly, trying to make it better. 'I'll get used to it.
