Jayden didn't notice anything wrong with Chester. They were both asleep, and it wasn't like Chester was grabbing him so tightly that he would have noticed. -
The next morning, the demons disappeared. He was shocked with the light pouring out a window and noticed he was in Jayden’s arms. He buried his face in Jayden’s chest, shaking and sobbing.

Jayden woke up to that, surprised to see Chester buried in his arms like this. "It's ok, it's ok. I got you. What's wrong?"

Chester sobbed uncontrollably, trying to force the words out. ‘D-Demon- Parents- S-Sleep-‘ he managed to whimper, eyes squeezing shut.

Jayd held him tightly. "It's ok, you're safe now, I've got you. You're safe with me, I promise."

Chester nodded, still sobbing. ‘I- Are they st-still here?’

"Who? The demons?" Jayden looked up to make sure there wasn't anyone hiding in his room before shaking his head. "No. I'm the only one here."

Chester relaxed in his arms, sobbing calming down a little. ‘O-Okay…’ he whimpered, arms tight around Jayden. -
Jayd held him close, ignoring how tightly Chester was holding him. "No one can hurt you. I'm right here."

Chester nodded, face buried in his shirt.

Jayden pulled away slightly to look Chester in the eye. "You feeling a bit better?" He asked softly.

Chester nodded, wiping his eyes.

Jayd smiled softly, kissing her nose. "Ok." He murmured.

Chester leaned into his touch, taking a deep, shaky breath. 'Thank you,' he said quietly.

Jayden nodded. "You're welcome, love."
