Hazel was tying her hair into a messy ponytail when she left her room and walked down the stairs.
-
Theo grinned once he saw her going down the stairs. "There she is." He told her dad.
-
‘Hullo,’ Hazel said, jumping the last two steps. She brushed hair out of her yes.
-
("Brushed hair out of her yes")
"Hazel. We need to talk." He looked over at Theo and Cohen. "Alone." The toast popped up. -
(I’d already submitted it the moment I noticed it 😭)
Hazel winced. ‘Sure, dad,’ she said. She glanced at Cohen and Theo apologetically. -
(LLLLLoser)
Theo gave her a sympathetic look before turning to his toast. He handed a piece to Cohen.
Hazel's dad motioned for her to follow him into his office. -
(MMMMMeanie)
Hazel followed him, bracing herself for a lot of yelling. -
(DDDDDDuh IIIIIIIIdiot WWWWWhat'd YYYYYYou EEEExpect)
Her dad shut the door behind her so the boys wouldn't hear anything. "I don't even know where to begin with this." He said with a deep sigh.
"Welp, you're both screwed." Cohen muttered as he ate the toast. -
(…… GGGGood PPPPPPoint)
Hazel winced. She was definitely screwed. ‘You're very mad, aren’t you?’ -
(HHHHa!)
He nodded. "You're dating the foreign exchange student living with us." He muttered. "You realize how that sounds?"
Theo nodded. "Yup. Very." -
Hazel pursed her lips. ‘Er… no.’
-
Hazel's dad turned to look at her, with that 'do I really have to spell it out for you' face. "You're dating the foreign exchange student- your roommate who you've known for 2, 2 and a half weeks, who you'll only see for a month more, who if things turn out badly in that month, you won't be able to avoid. Now are you getting why this might not be the greatest choice you've made?"
-
‘If things turn bad, there’s only a few weeks left,’ Hazel mumbled. ‘I won’t have to see him, like, ever again.’ It wasn’t a nice thought. She should’ve kept her mouth shut.
-
Her dad started sounding more frustrated since his point wasn't getting across. "And in those few weeks you will be roommates, have classes together, and have to explain to all the little kids why you're not in your room kissing every five seconds, and did I add, be roommates." He said with an angry edge to his voice like he was going to start yelling within the next sentence.
-
‘Alright, I get it, dating French people is a big no-no,’ Hazel huffed. ‘But if I end it now then it’s only going to get more awkward! And all that stuff you just said will happen anyway!’
