There was a small grotesque green creature sitting in the darkness. It almost looked like a dog, but it had no eyes and the limbs were backwards

Collins winced. She sat up, but the creature didn't look like it would do harm. 'What is that?'

"that's Marco." Florence said. He mimicked some barking and the creature hobbled forward

Collins' expression was one of disgust. 'Is Marco friendly? Or will it want to rip my face off?'

"he's just a... dog.... please don't hate him." Florence said. He knew the dog before the experiments and marco was here because he'd failed the experimentation. Eyes could not be fixed by a saline and cartilage injection

Collins looked at Florence, then at the dog Marco. 'He's a dog? What happened to him?'

"after the project didn't work the head researcher tried to alter him to see if he'd live." Florence said. He didn't want to talk about the project. It made Marco howl and it hurt his ears

'He's... actually kinda cute,' Collins said, cocking her head at the dog-thing.

Florence whistled and Marco hobbled forward. Florence scratched the dog behind the ears lovingly. Marco was supposed to be his dog according to the creator

Collins watched Marco. He scarcely resembled a dog to her, and if she stared too long at his backwards limbs she felt a little sick, but he looked kind of harmless.

Marco let out a strangled bark. "It's okay boy." Florence said in a soothing tone. His eyes turned pink as he pet the sad dog

'Is he OK?' Collins asked.

"he can't bark good no more." Florence said. He mimicked a bark Marco once did.

'Is that what the experiments did to him?'

"Part of it." Florence said. Marco let out a pained howl that sounded like he was dying. Florence cooed at the dog.
