Collins closed her eyes, figuring she'd have nothing to do but sleep now. She could hear her parents' voices from the kitchen.
-
Florence moved from side to side as much as he was able to. It didn't do much. He laid down his head.
-
Collins eventually fell asleep. It was late afternoon, and soon the voices from the kitchen faded and her therapist left.
-
Florence fought his restraints for hours until the sun started to fade away before he fell asleep from exhaustion.
-
Collins woke up quite early in the morning. The sun peeked through the curtains. Collins checked the clock. 5:19am. Way too early to be awake, but there was nothing better for her to do.
-
Florence was still asleep at 5 in the morning. He was too exhausted to awaken.
-
Collins had slept in her clothes, she realised, and hastily changed into new ones. She checked that her parents were still sleeping and walked out the apartment with a satchel slung over her shoulder, full of thinga that could help her. She walked down to the hospital, torch in hand.
-
Florence moved in his sleep restlessly. His arms constantly flinched and his legs kicked as he tried to extend them.
-
Collins wasn't sure if the assistant researcher was still in the building, and she didn't want to wake any dangerous things, so she walked up the stairs quietly. Once her eyes adjusted to the dark, she put her torch away and continued up the seven floors to find Florence.
-
Florence was twitching in his restraints as he slept. Quiet murmurings echoed throughout the room as he fought his restraints
-
Collins got to the seventh floor and walked to the room she remembered Florence being in when she left. 'Florence?' she whispered, noticing him still restrained by the shackles.
-
Florence whined in his sleep before slowly opening all three of his eyes. He tried to sit up using his hands but he was stopped by his shackles.
-
Collins breathed a sigh of relief. 'Are you alright?' she asked, sitting down next to Florence. She rummaged around in her satchel.
-
"it.... hurts." Florence said. He needed to eat but it was impossible to while still stuck in the shackles. He usually caught rats around the building and ate them since the researchers all left.
-
Collins sighed. 'I should've tried to help you instead of running away,' she said, inspecting the shackles.
