Collins winced. It was a horrible thought. She couldn't think of a good comeback, so she just said, 'What were you planning to do with my blood, anyway?'

"research, I could infuse your human blood into insects to see how they'd react." The assistant researcher said

'That's not research, that's sick!' Collins protested.

"it is research. You may not see it as ethical but it could benefit everyone and Florence if you don't put me down I WILL force you into the scavenger's daughter!" The assistant researcher shouted

Collins folded her arms, watching Florence pace. 'What's the scavenger's daughter?' she asked curiously.

"it's a device that compresses. It helps me observe Florence's natural healing processes and bone structure." The assistant researcher said

'That's cruel,' Collins muttered, rubbing her wrists. The blood was starting to seep through her clothing and stained her sleeves.

"either way you should leave, you're trespassing." The was researcher said. A screeching roar was heard from below and Florence replicated it

'Or what? It doesn't look like you could do anything to me right now,' Collins snapped before she could stop herself.

"I could put you back in the extractor, or take legal action." The assistant researcher said

'Not if Florence doesn't let go of you,' Collins said, cocking her head at the man.

"you mean like THIS!" The man yelled before stabbing Florence with a syringe. Florence while strong was no match for chemical warfare. He collapsed onto the ground.

Collins flinched and swallowed. I should've kept my mouth shut, she thought, vexed at herself.

"now then, what was that about not being able to do anything?" The assistant researcher said smugly

Collins glanced at Florence, then back at the assistant researcher. 'I-It's against the law to set experiments on someone without permission,' she said, figuring it would be. Something to do with assault or cruelty.
