'I've never chewed wires, so I suppose I wouldn't know,' Collins said jokingly.

"you shouldn't, it's bad for you. The normal person equivalent is like a pacifier." Florence said. He chewed on the wires and watched a spark fly from his mouth.

'I don't plan to. It was a joke,' Collins said, wondering if the creator ever taught Florence the concepts of humour or sarcasm.

"oh, sorry." Florence said sheepishly. Florence continued his humming as he felt the sun shine through the window. He almost fell asleep

Collins smiled and closed her eyes, the warmth of the sun beating down on her skin. It must've been at least noon. Her parents would be imensely worried, probably calling her therapist, but a part of Collins didn't care.

A knocking was heard from the stairwell doors that jolted him awake. A mucus filled voice rang out from the stairs. "Florence! I know you're here somewhere! Help me you buffoon!" Florence flinched.

Collins' eyes snapped open. She reached over and closed the music box. 'Is that the assistant researcher?' she whispered.

Florence nodded. He started chewing on the wires more viciously and aggressively.

'Calm down,' Collins said. She wanted to snatch the wires off him but she didn't want to get electrocuted. 'Go hide.'

Florence looked around, dropping the wires and stressfully, he forced himself into entering the vat room and flying up to the rafters

Collins stood up, watching him run off. She looked back to the door, wondering when the researcher would finish climbing the stairs.

Noises came from the stairwell as the man shouted. "I might as well throw you into the vat if you don't come help me!" The man fussed. Florence hung on tight to the rafters

Collins just stood there. She flicked her torch off.

The man trudged up the crumbling stairs and stood at the once sealed door. "Has my lab been reopened?" He questioned. Florence heard the assistant researcher and held his breath

Collins hid behind the wall. She wasn't sure how such a cruel man would react to someone else in his lab, but she didn't move to find out.
