Collins giggled, watching him. ‘You’re ridiculous,’ she laughed teasingly, shaking her head.

"it's part of being a Florence." Florence said before bursting out in a trumpet solo.

‘Being a Florence?’ Collins laughed. ‘Love that for you.’

"what's it like being a Collins?" Florence asked with a light feature on the woodwind section of his remembered musical instruments

Collins paused for a moment. She shrugged, looking up at Florence from her seat on the grass. ‘It’s… interesting. Not good, but not bad either.’

"what happens? I wanna know what regular life is like." Florence asked. He started to add drums and some cymbals to his woodwinds.

‘Well, I’m homeschooled, and I’m not really allowed outside the house. I’ve just been given a bit more independence this month, because of my therapist, which is why I can come to see you. It’s… kind of boring, actually,’ Collins said, adjusting her flower crown.

"why don't they let you out? I thought normal people were allowed to leave their houses." Florence said

‘I-I mean, they are, but my parents just get worried about me,’ Collins said quickly, but she was hiding something else. Florence wouldn’t really understand.

"if they were worried they could go outside with you. Or they could also set you up with a walkie talkie so they could hear what you're doing." Florence said. He added a tuba to his orchestra.

‘I already have a phone, so I don’t need a walkie talkie. And they could’ve, but they were always too busy,’ Collins said, fiddling with a blade of grass shed pulled out of the dirt.

"if you had a phone then why didn't they just let you go?" Florence asked as he started to settle down. He laid in the henbit patch and calmed down the orchestra to a faint piano

‘Because they were worried about me. Tracking apps aren’t very reliable,’ Collins mumbled, not telling the whole truth.

"see, that's where the call feature comes in handy!" Florence shouted cheerfully as he lifted himself up with his arms.

Collins gave a small smile. ‘I suppose so.’
