Florence went back to his room and crawled up onto the rusted bed frame, setting the robot at the foot of the bed. He fell asleep waiting for the creator.
What he didn't know was that his creator would never return. His creator was buried in the yard two years ago. He left 5 years ago. -
Collins headed back to her apartment. She wanted to go visit Florence the very next day, but she wouldn't be able to. She wasn't allowed out very often - only twice a week, and definitely not to see potentially dangerous experiments.
She opened the door and her mother appeared in front of her, arms crossed. -
Florence slept as creatures lurked the halls. They smelled a human had been there and they were getting fussy without no one there. They'd gotten so used to humans 5 years ago. They were upset without their creator to control them.
-
After a quiet dinner, Collins was sent to bed. She flopped down on top of her blankets, thinking about the day's events.
-
Florence had a dream. He was pushing the creators wheelchair through the halls of the facility while one set of his hands ran across the walls. He played a song familiar but unknown to him.
-
Collins never managed to fall asleep. She lay there, staring up at the ceiling, her mind replaying old and new memories over and over. Playing board games with her grandmother. Talking to her therapist. Wearing black at a church. Hiding under the table in the abandoned hospital.
-
Florence watched in the dream as slowly the pristine white hallway faded to a nauseous gray and the paint peeled off and crumbled to the floor. He held onto the creator as the creator sang. It did it's best to mimic with instruments the song the creator played, but it wasn't enough. The creator disappeared and Florence was left hugging his wheelchair as the facility fell into disrepair

It was like playing a movie she'd already watched. Running from Florence. Healing his hands. Listening to the heart play the nice lullaby, until she fell into a dreamless sleep.
-
Florence sat in the abandoned facility in it's dreams for a long while before awakening. It opened up the heart and trilled as the soft lullaby played. It was so much better with the heart right there.
-
It was morning when Collins woke. She'd decided maybe she could sneak out through the window before her parents came in to start the day and spend the day with Florence or like any other normal person.
-
Florence decided to search the facility for any more on his friends who needed help. The facility had some non violent creatures after all. He couldn't be the only one that stayed. He carried the heart with him for support as he walked into the hall
-
That's what she did. She quickly got changed into some fresh clothes and climbed through the window, walking on the steps that were on the edge of each apartment. She hurried down the stairs, trying not to look down because of high up she was.
-
Florence watched the dust settle throughout the hall as he walked through them silently. It filled him with sorrow. He started to throw together a song to break the silence. He started with a kalimba on a C then went to a trumpet. He circled through instruments before settling on the clarinet.
-
Soon she was jogging to the abandoned hospital, pulling her coat tighter around her. The morning air was crisp and smelled of Autumn. Autumn smelt nice.
She was soon at the abandoned hospital. She'd left the doors open last night, and so didn't have to pry them open this time. -
Florence played a suspenseful clarinet melody as he crept through the halls. Looking through rooms. There was scarcely a friendly living thing in the building so far. It looked at a wheelchair left in the middle of the hall. It was a medical wheelchair much different from the creators wheelchair. It still reminded Florence of his creator.
