Collins smiled. 'Could we have a look at the facilities?' she asked, practically bouncing up and down in excitement.
-
"of course... just watch out... it's up the stairs." Florence said. The stairs had become decrepit over time and sometimes they'd flat out fall down.
-
'Alright,' Collins assumed by "watch out" he meant there might be dangerous creatures around.
-
Florence led Collins to the stairs. As he walked he dangled his arms occasionally swinging them from side to side. He tried to mess with a few of the instruments he was good at mimicking. He messed around with the keyboard for awhile
-
Collins' mouth curved into a grin as she listened to him mimic. 'You're very good at that.'
-
"it is... my best skill. I've had... lots of practice." Florence said. He practiced a lot of the restless days whenever he could not find the heart. It was difficult
-
'That's so cool!'
-
Florence forced open the door to the stairs, flaring his wings occasionally to imitate greater strength. He mimicked the way the metal squealed as pebbles fell from the old doorframe. The stairs door was welded shut previously.
-
Collins watched, stepping backwards when his wings flared.
-
Whenever the stairs finally opened, there was a lot to take in. There was mold on the walls and the concrete stairs seemed like a spiderweb of cracks. Directly in front of the door was surely the most alarming sight though, it was a human skeleton in a lab coat. The bones looked slightly yellow but not incredibly old. Florence shuddered and mimicked the screams.
-
Collins shone her torch around and screamed at the sight of the skeleton. 'Wh-wha- I-is that real?' she said quietly.
-
"old... researcher." Florence said. He mimicked a scream he remembered hearing from the day that everyone started leaving. He wondered if it was this man's scream.
-
'Goodness,' she whispered, trying to calm herself down.
-
Florence tested the stairs with his red set of hands before starting to walk up. He blinked the eye on his chest as he mimicked the creaking of wood stairs.
-
Collins followed, staying a considerable distance away from the skeleton. 'How many more corpses will there be?' she asked.
