"no... idea.... I was.... busy... When it happened." Florence said. He walked up the stairs with one set of his hands helping the stair climb and the other touching the walls. He liked how fuzzy it felt to him. It reminded him of the small creatures that would wander up the stairs occasionally
-
'Oh,' Collins said, carefully following him. One of the stairs creaked as she stepped on it, making her question it's stability.
-
Florence looked back, pulling Collins up as the stairs crumbled and dropped where she had just been standing. The concrete was worn out and stressed. They were not the way to go but Florence knew the elevator was broken and he didn't want to punch holes in the roof for no good reason.
-
Collins looked behind her as Florence pulled her up the stairs, watching them crack and break. They got tongue top and Collins stared and the space that had previously been a staircase. 'Goodness...'
-
to the*)
-
"it's.. unsteady." Florence said tracing the cracks in the concrete. He mimicked the hushed whispers as he thought about all the people that used to use these stairs
-
'I can tell,' she muttered, though not in a rude tone of voice. 'Are all stairs like... that?' She motioned to the rubble below them, very much wanting to make it out of this hospital alive.
-
"most." Florence said. Florence sat down and stretched his arms to prepare himself for the climb. It was a lot of stairs. He hated walking up stairs.
-
Collins looked up. 'We can do this,' she muttered to herself, bending her legs, ready to start sprinting.
-
Florence continued up the stairs like he was earlier this time trying to vocally play a tuba. It was a very funny sounding instrument in his opinion but too heavy to actually play without mimickry in his opinion.
-
Collins hurried after him, trying not to stay on each step too long. She didn't dare look behind her.
-
Eventually they made it all the way to the 7th floor. The door was completely sealed so Florence decided once again to start prying the door from the door frame with brute strength.
-
'Do you need some help?' she asked, though she probably wasn't that strong.
-
"I've.. Got.. It." Florence said as the metal bent and screeched. He mimicked the screeching back to it as he held the doorframe back with one pair of arms
-
Collins winced, the metal sound giving her goosebumps. She glanced behind her. Some of the stairs had crumpled and collapsed.
