Eli grinned even more than they already were, watching the whole thing happen like it was a Hallmark movie. -
(ME TOO I'M ALMOST CRYING)
Callum's mother pulled away, wiping a tear, and his father wrapped his arms around Callum, who started crying. -
(SAME AHHHH)
Eli's eyes started tearing up, and they wiped them, sitting down. -

When his father finally pulled away, Claudia wiped away Callum's tears with her thumb. 'Well, come inside,' she said, grinning. -
Eli stood up, walking by Callum. "Um... Hi." They said awkwardly.

'And friend,' Callum's father said, saving them inside.

Eli smiled, walking inside with Callum.

The house was barely a house. It was just one big room made from bits of wood and concrete. Callum looked at his parents and his mother gestured them to sit on the couch.

Eli sat down on the couch, making sure there was plenty of room for Callum.

Callum sat down next to them, and both his parents pulled over chairs. For a moment they just sat in silence. 'So,' Callum father finally said. 'Would you like to tell us about the three years we've missed?'

Eli looked at Callum, wanting to know what his life was like before going to the normal world.

Callum wiped his eyes with his sleeve. 'You didn't miss much,' he said, and Claudia scoffed playfully. Callum looked around the house. 'Have you been here all this time?'

Claudia nodded, her smile fading slightly. "Yes. I suppose you didn't miss much here either. Just.... empty space."

'I'm really sorry,' Callum said. 'This is all my fault..'
His father patted his knee. 'Don't be silly, of course it's not.'
