Eli nodded. "Sounds good. Although.... How am I supposed to tell you guys if I'm in trouble or if I found something? Do I just wait until you pull me up?"

'Tug on the rope twice if you want to get pulled up and tug three times if you've found something,' Claudia said, walking towards the front door.

Eli nodded. "Alright, lets do this." They said, following Claudia.

Callum and his father followed the two of them. Claudia held onto the end of the rope. 'Alright, when you're ready, jump.'

Eli nodded, and took a deep breath before jumping off. It was a very weird experience landing on nothing. They wouldn't recommend it.

'You good?' Callum checked, watching them drift in nothing.

Eli gave a thumbs up. "All good!" They said with a smile before trying to go further down.

'Do you see anything?' Callum's father called.

"Just a LOT of nothing. And debris." Almost on cue a clump of dirt wacked them in the head.

Callum winced. 'That's gotta hurt,' he muttered.

"I'm fine!" Eli called out, though they had a headache now. They tried to go further and right before the rope ended they noticed something that looked like an edge. They tugged the rope 3 times.

'What did you find?' Callum shouted, unsure if Eli would be able to hear him.

Eli was barely able to hear. "I found the edge!" They yelled as loud as they could. "Or at least, it looks like it!"

Callum couldn't make out what they were saying. Neither could his parents. Claudia began to pull Eli in again.

Eli felt themself go up and tried to get back up.
