"What happened?" Eli asked, wanting to know both how Eli's x-men powers worked and just how powerful the shadow thing was.

'Nothing happened. It didn't work.'

"Huh." Eli stood up. "Well maybe we could... Try and follow it? Maybe it keeps all the stuff somewhere?"

'Maybe...'

"You don't think it does, do you?" Eli said quietly.

'No.'

"Well it's gotta do SOMETHING with them. Might as well try and find out."

'Fine. But we're both being bait.'

"But that makes no sense! If the worst case scenario happened nobody would be able to save the cats!" Eli tried to make their point convincing.

'Either I'm the bait or we're both the bait,' Callum stated, walking towards the door.

"Fine, we'll both be bait. But if worst case scenario happens, it's on you."

'Fine,' Callum said.

"Do you think the shadow guy is still by the rainbow hat stuff?"
