They both got to the hut, which was somehow smaller than the other refuge houses. The roof was partially destroyed.
-
Amira walked through the narrow hallway, her eyes darting around the hut incase there was anything helpful.
-
Kai looked around at all the dirty rags and debris, looking to find something remotely interesting.
-
Amira spotted a plastic bag tucked away underneath an object that might of one time looked remotely like s fridge. "Check here, perhaps?"
-
Kai nodded, looking through the bag. He picked up a couple beer bottles from the bag.
“Save these for later?” He joked, before setting the bottles back down. -
Amira laughed. "Might have too, is there anything else in there?"
-
Kai looked through some more. “There’s a letter.” He said, picking up the envelope and handing it to Amira.
-
Amira flipped it over, flicking dust of the seal. Slowly, she peeled it open, and pulled out a rather dirty piece of parchment. She looked at the date.1996. The same year as the sinking of the refuge boat.
-
Kai looked over Amira’s shoulder as she opened the letter, and he read the date.
“The same year that boat sank.” He whispered. “The plot thickens.” -
Amira wasn't sure to laugh or not. Instead she narrowed her eyes and continued to read.
Dear Mr. Stone brook,
I am writing on the regard of many others. Far two many "refuges" have attempted an escape to our country, and it is taking a strain on our stock, and the rich made to offer their homes to the filth. Regarding this, I have a solution to solve the matter. Three weeks today at 11pm-
Amira took a sharp intake of breath and waited until Kai had finished reading. "I guess the next page says the plan" she guessed now intrigued but concerned. -
Kai nodded, not sure wether to be excited or nervous. “Well let’s read it!” He exclaimed.
-
Amira nodded once, passing the letter to Kai. "You read it this time" she suggested.
-
Kai nodded looking at the contents of the letter.
I can’t say too much in this letter, for fear it gets confiscated, but three weeks today we will tty and move more refuges out of this country and smuggle them into a new one.
Kai let out a sharp intake of breath. -
(Lol, we both put the same thing after our part of the letter)
Amira peered over his shoulder. "Smuggling refuges out of England, where too?" She asked. -
(Lol, didn’t even realize that😂)
“It doesn’t say.” Kai said, looking through the letter again. “I bet it says it in another letter though.”
