"Dali thinks if she can't see us, we can't see her. She normally hides behind the sofa or stands somewhere and closes her eyes" she chuckled quietly.

Kai laughed. "Ok, that makes Aarons hiding place a little smarter, but still."

"I guess so" she laughed.

"Oh look at that, he got caught. Such a shame, his hiding spot was just amazing." He said sarcastically.

Amira chuckled softly. "He's only young" she smiled. "You are too you know, your doing well to look after him. It's not to much for you is it?" She knew she kept asking personal things but she was curious and struggled with social skills sometimes so she didn't always realise when she was catching someone's nerve.

Kai shrugged. "He's a pretty chill kid, so it's not normally that hard. Sometimes I do wish that my parents were at this camp to help-" His voice caught on the last part, and he looked away.

"Sorry" she muttered. "You've done well you know"

"Thanks." Kai said, and he felt a teardrop slide down his cheek. He wiped it and plastered a fake smile on his face.

"I'm really sorry, I struggle with social skills or whatever it's called. I'll go" she mumbled near tears herself. She scrambled of the bench and started heading towards her hut.

“Wait, don’t leave!” Kai called out, standing up to follow Amira. “I don’t mind much.”

"You sure about that?" She said sarcastically. "Sorry" she mumbled again but didn't walk further away.

“It’s alright.” Kai said, smiling gently. “I-I guess I’m just not really used to it, but I really don’t mind much.”

"Then why were you crying?" Amira shot but not unkindly. "I'm hopeless okay, I'm terrible at talking, I'm sorry" she whispered.

“It’s fine. I was crying because I miss my parents, that’s all. Your not hopeless.” Kai hugged Amira.

Amira wavered uncertainly but hugged him back all the same. "Thanks" she gave a small smile. "You don't know how much of a relief it is to hear you say that"
