“Ewwww, who adds pineapple on pizza? That should be a crime!” Kai said, sticking his tongue out in disgust,

Amira laughed. "It should be a crime if you dont"

“Anyone with a BRAIN would side with me.” Kai argued, not really meaning it.

Amira chuckled. "Favourite subject?"

“History.” Kai said instantly. “What about you?”

"History and English"

Kai nodded. “English is super cool too.”

"So, how often does the refuge truck come here?" She asked suddenly serious.

Kai shrugged, “once every other week normally.” He said. “Why?”

"I'm wondering when the rest of my family will come. If they can't afford it.." her face drooped. "What if they get a cheap boat and drown because it breaks or flips over?"

“Hey, it’ll be alright.” Kai promised. “The only time I’ve heard of that happening is in that newspaper, and it was shoved to the brim with people. They’ve changed that, so they won’t flip or break.”

Amira wanted to believe him, but the boat that had gone across before she travelled had flipped over, and only half of the people survived. She shivered at the thought but managed a small smile.."Okay" then hesitated. "I'm sorry, I'm crying and worrying about my family and putting that on you when you got your own family to worry about"

Kai shook his head. “I don’t mind it. Besides, we’ve all got people we’re worrying about.”

"Yeah I guess" she stated thinking about her Grandma, her best friend, everyone in her old class, even her teacher.
