“What do you want to grab?” Nikolai asked, standing next to Natsuki. “I can grab whatever you need.”
-
Natsuki wanted to take the whole closet with her, but knew it was both impractical and impossible. She took out the soccer ball and set it on her bed, as well as the shoe box and one book.
-
Nikolai nodded, grabbing the shoebox. “Anything else?” He asked softly, knowing it couldn’t be easy having to leave everything behind.
-
Natsuki grabbed the wallet, knowing she and Nik would need money, and tucked it into her pocket, grabbing the soccer ball and turning it around in her hands, staring at it.
-
Nikolai smiled comfortingly. “If that’s all, then let’s go.”
-
Natsuki nodded and picked up the book, holding the soccer ball under her arm as she walked out the door and into Xiao's room. She knew it was rude to snoop, but she did anyway and looked under his bed, pulling out a shoe box of his own sentimental treasures, though she knew what was inside.
-
Nikolai looked around the room he followed Nat into, and noticed her grab a shoebox from under the bed.
-
Nat set the shoe box on the ground and opened the lid to find all kinds of old photos, an old family heirloom necklace from her mother's side, a stone with a Chinese symbol painted on it and a yin and yang charm.
-
“Are these some old family photos?” Nikolai asked, pointing at some of the jumbled up photos in the shoebox.
-
Natsuki nodded, picking one up of Xiao and her. She was on top of Xiao's shoulders at around 5 or 6, Xiao being 10 or 11. They were both laughing their heads off, and Natsuki let out a sad chuckle at the faint memory.!
-
(typo in the last word, gosh dang it)
-
“Aw, you two were so cute.” Nikolai said, looking at the photo.
-
Nat smiled at that, still looking at the photo.
-
Nikolai smiled, looking at some other stuff in Xiao’s box.
(Frick, gtg!) -
Natsuki tucked the photo into her wallet and took another look inside the box. She took the rock and turned it around in her fingers, looking at the Chinese symbol.
