(Sorry I've been watching Netflix for a few hours I forgot 😓)
Lily rubbed her eyes with her grimy fingers as she awoke too a bright light. At least it was warm. She wrapped her cardigan together around her. She'd recently stolen a new outfit, it was a blue t-shirt and cardigan along with a pair of beige leggings which were too short at the leg. Not the most exciting outfit but it kept her warm. Well, warmish. -
(Haha)
'Morning, Nonna,' Anne said brightly, kissing her old grandma gently on the cheek. She was in her wheelchair and didn't speak. Anne wasn't sure her Nonna could even hear her, or maybe she just wasn't listening.
She jumped behind the counter, pulling her youngest sibling, Emma, away from the fresh bread. -
Finally, Lily stood up her stomach aching from hunger. The bakery was near and she knew it opened quite early in the morning so maybe she could steal something from there. She walked along the paths ignoring the stares and comments from strangers and into the bakery. Normally she saw a old man working in there today, but instead she saw a child about her own age and a little girl who looked around the age of five. This would be easier then expected.
"Hello" Lily stated looking at the bread. -
Anne looked up at the scruffy girl, then back at her half-sister. 'Go play with Nonna,' she snapped, pushing her away from the counter.
'But Nonna barely talks! She's no fun to play with,' Emma whined.
'Then play with Charles or Bailey or Xavier,' Anne said. 'Just don't bother me.'
Emma's eyes welled with tears. 'I'm telling!' she cried, and ran upstairs. Anne sighed and walked back behind the counter. She stared at the girl in front of her, messy hair, grimy face, stained clothes.
A street urchin.
'Hello,' Anne said cautiously. 'What do you need?' -
Lily looked up at the girl infront of her. Not posh. But rich, very rich. Surely it wouldn't hurt if she took a couple of bread rolls. She glanced at the barrier holding the food back from customers. She rapped her fingers against the barrier a couple of times. Oof.It was glass. (I have too go bc I'm at school haha)

(All good)
'Umm,' Anne muttered, staring at the girl. 'What do you need?' she repeated awkwardly. -
Lily stared up at the girl in-front of her. Rich people weren't always the smartest, maybe she could fool the girl? No, as soon as she'd stolen something she would most likely call for her father. "Food" she replied.
-
'Ok,' she said. The cogs started turning in her head, assessing the possible scenarios. The worst one she could think of was the girl stealing something, which wasn't too bad the more she thought about it. She pulled her apron over her dress and tightened it at the back. 'What do you want?'
-
Lily raised her eyebrows. "You mean, what do I want too eat?" she thought this through in her head wondering what this girl could possibly mean.
"Well I don't really care but I don't have no money" Lily replied speaking in her cockney accent. -
Anne tilted her head at her in confusion. 'Then why would you come in? This is a shop. Things cost money,' she said, genuinely curious.
-
"Cause I'm hungry" Lily answered like it was the most obvious thing ever.
-
Anne narrowed her eyes at the girl. 'Where are your parents? They should have some money,' she said, trying not to seem too irritated.
-
"Dead" Lily stated. She didn't seem that sad about it. Probably because she didn't have that much time to get too know them. "I might as well go ain't I?" She added turning round.
-
Anne widened her eyes at that word. Dead. It was a sad word, but the scruffy girl in front of her seemed to make it like it meant nothing. 'Before you go,' Anne said, opening the case and pulling out a small loaf of bread. 'Take this,' she said, holding it over the counter O her.
