"You know there are chairs right there, right?" He points to a corner of the room where chairs are stacked in case visitors come. "you don't have to sit on the floor."

'Its dark,' Akari said in embarrassment, standing up.

"Well we ARE in a cave with little to no sunlight." Oberon laughs, unstacking two chairs and setting them down.

'Good point,' Akari chuckled, sitting on the chair closest to her. 'Have you ever been in the sun? Or the human world, at least?'

Oberon shook his head solemnly. "no. None of the elves have gone into the outside world for generations." He said with a sigh.

Akari tilted her head at him curiously. 'Not even once?' she asked, leaning forward.

"Nope. The closest we've been is at the mouth of the cave we met you at." He says.

'Do you want to? Go to the human world, I mean?' she asked, her face lighting up.

"Well... It's against the rules of the village, worst case punishment, we could get thrown out. Best case, we get thrown in the prison." Oberon starts to ramble.

'If they catch us, that is,' Akari said, a mischievous grin appearing on her face.

"There's guards always patrolling out there." He says. "but..." He trails off as a forbidden idea crosses his mind.

Akari noticed a thoughtful expression cross Oberon's face. ' "But?" What are you thinking of?' she pressed, smiling.

"I guess I could go for patrol and sneak both of us outside...." Oberon reluctantly admits.

Akari jumped up. 'Cool! Let's go.' She took Oberon's hand and lead him out of the hut. Mischief was her speciality.

"I didn't know you meant now!" He exclaims as she pulls him along. When hey got to the mouth of the cave, get signed and looked at the guards. "Chief ordered me to come watch up here for a shift. You guys go back down." He says, and they immediately take off.
