he settled into the blankets, turning away from the girl. "Goodnight, Akari." He says, then dozed off.

'Goodnight,' Akari said, laying down. She rolled onto her side, closing her eyes. It took a while longer for her to fall asleep, but she eventually did.

-the next day-
He woke to the sound of the waking team parading through the paths, and sat up and stretched. He looked over at Akari, who was still asleep. He got up and started to making some food. -
Akari stirred at the noise after a while. She opened her eyes and rubbed them. 'What's that sound?' she croaked, sitting up sleepily.

"The waking team. We can't have bells or anything, so we appoint the loudest elves to go through the streets and wake everyone." He says, setting some food on the table. "I hope you don't mind that there is no meat. We don't enjoy it down here."

'In the human town the monks just ring a giant bell at 5am,' Akari said, standing up. 'And that's OK. I've never liked steak, anyway.'

He sat on the stone counter as he ate his food. "So, what are we going to do today?"

Akari sat next to him and started eating. 'I don't mind. What is there to do?'

"Hm... I think there's a party down at that waterfall place, for the younger elves, would you like to go to that?" Oberon suggests.

'That sounds fun!' Akari exclaimed happily. 'Oh- and here's your jacket,' she said, taking off the jacket Oberon had lended her and holding it out to him.

"Keep it. You might get cold again." He says, waving it off. "Anyways, it's not my only one."

Akari smiled. 'Alright, then,' she said, putting the jacket back on. 'Thank you.'

"No problem. Hopefully soon we can set you up with your own house here in the village." He says, putting his empty plate back on the counter beside the wash bin.

'Yeah,' Akari said, finishing off her food and wiping the crumbs on her hands on her trousers.

"All done? Good. Let's go to the party, then" he smiled as they left the house.
