She jerks to attention. "oh, no. no fighting ghosts please. i'm just remembering how he used to be before it all happened." she chuckles at the thought of Ace fighting Rhugien.

"Was he... was Rhugien, like, your boyfriend or something?" Olive asks, softly with a tinge of jealousy.

she looks a bit sad at that. "ah... no. no, he wasn't my boyfriend. maybe if he hadn't left, we might have one day. maybe." she says, giving Olive a small smile. "now, though, i'm open to anyone. but i haven't met anyone like that... i don't think." she looks into Olive's eyes.

Maurice walks toward them, stopping wearily. "Howdy, all. Catch me up on what's happening!"

Olive flinches, spinning around to meet the stranger. "How- where- who-" She's stammering and is flustered.

she looks at the new person, wondering how long they've been standing there. she steps behind Olive, too afraid to speak.

"Guys, save it. I'm not going to attack or anything." He insisted.

Olive narrows her eyes at the stranger, suspicious. "How do we know you aren't bluffing?"

she steps out from behind Olive, deciding to be brave for once. "h-hello. I'm Karentina. may i ask your name?" she questions, trying to speak up so her voice doesn't get lost in the wind.

"I'm not carrying any weapons with me."

He glances at Karentina for a second, before turning his head back at Olive. "Also, Karentina, my name is Maurice. Call me Reese." He sighed, unhappy that the others had mistrusted him.

"nice to meet you, Reese." her gaze flits back to Olive, but quickly away again. she blushes slightly. "what are you doing in the forest?"

Olive sighs, deciding to give in. "I'm Olive. Now that introductions are over, we need to find the way back to where we were before..." She turns to keep searching for a sign of the others, but to no luck, there was no doubt that they were definitely lost.

she closes her eyes, focusing. a small parade of animals flock around them, herding them to the clearing. "dunno why i didn't think of that before."

"Funny story, i can tell you that." Maurice giggled a little. "The thing is, I was taking a walk somewhere, but I could not find my way back home, so I thought this was as likely as not, a good shelter."
