"Praxidike and his cronies, and my SISTER!" Olive growls.

"makes sense." Karentina says.

"How does that make sense to you? I don't think I've told you the full story about them...did I?" Olive wonders.

"well, you said she ran off, so you don't know what she could be doing." Karentina says.

"Oh no, I know what she's been doing. Ace was the first to find out, actually. Izzy has been conspiring with the enemy." Olive's face contorted into a snarl.

"oh." was all Karentina could manage.

"A part of me wants to persuade her into coming back with us, her own family who will love her even after her past mistakes. Then the other part of me knows that will never happen, and I'll have to turn her in to the authorities." Olive sighs, looking out the window.

"i understand that feeling completely." Karentina says.

"But if I turn Izzy in... she's going to get..." her voice gets softer and she shudders, "...The Chair."

"i know, but... think of it this way. would you rather have a sister, or have the enemies gone?" Karentina asks.

"I'd rather have a sister, but I'm never going to get it. Why? BECAUSE SHE HATES US! SHE HATES OUR FAMILY! All because of what we did...which was an accident, by the way." Olive's voice cracks, she's on the verge of tears,

Karentina leans over, hugging Olive.

Olive cries into Karentina's shoulder, hugging her tight. "I wish I could just go back in time and make everything right, but time travel doesn't exist yet."

"what's past is past. it doesn't do well to dwell on the past, remember?" Karentina says.

Olive chuckles, "You are r e a l l y making me eat my own words right now."
