she shakes Olive's hand. "nice to meet you too, Olive." her long, nimble fingers flit around, catching strands of her own hair and brushing it out of one of her eyes, the other eye she covers.

Olive was speechless at how breathtaking Karentina is up close. Feeling awkward she's desperately trying to find a topic to bring up. Then she see her pet frog, Leif, still chilling on the mushroom. Olive picks and up and shows Karentina. "Do you like frogs? Because you can pet Leif if you want to..."

she looks at the frog curiously. she reaches out to pet him, and as she pets him, she realizes how many animals she hasn't seen yet in the big wide world. "he's adorable."

Olive smiles, "I'm sure he appreciates the compliment." She places him onto Karentina's hands and Olive gets down on her knees, digging through the dirt like a dog. "A-ha! Found one." She gets back up and is holding an Earthworm in her hand. "Would you like to feed him? He doesn't bite either. But toads do."

"i'd be delighted to feed him." she says, smiling. each minute that passes, she seems more comfortable around Olive. she takes the earthworm, and feeds it to Leif.

Leif snarfs it down, and a tiny belch sound comes from him. "Sounds like he enjoyed the meal!" Olive chuckles. A comfortable silence forms around them. "So, you come her often? To this spot, I mean." Olive picks up her fountain pen and twirls it around, between her fingers.

"ah, not exactly. there's another clearing a bit farther down, it has a little spring there. i go there every time i want to get away from the townsfolk." she gives an apologetic smile, and she plucks a couple flowers and starts braiding them into a flower crown.

Olive nods, giving Karentina a wistful look, "I know that feeling well. I should know, I have full house! A twin brother, a big brother, my cousin, my moms, and my aunt. It can be... overwhelming sometimes, but I love them anyways. What about you?"

"sadly, i'm an only child. i live with my Mother and Father, but my friends are always over, so it's like they're just about part of the family." she responds, letting out a tinkling laugh. "when my friends aren't over, i'm either out in the town or at the clearing"

"Out of town, eh? Are you a traveler?" Olive peers at Karentina, with a curious expression. Even Leif seemed interested in the conversation.

"oh. yes, i do like to travel. i go to all the other towns around here, i've even been to the capital. it's beautiful this time of year." Karentina says. (i might have a delay in responding, i'm busy doing something rn T^T)

"I don't travel often, but I've always dreamed of going to the capital. What's it like?" Olive asks, in awe of Karentina. -
"it's amazing there. the streets are bustling with people constantly, and there are so many different shops. the library there is gigantic, but i think i read almost every book in the short amount of time i was there." she answers jokingly, but she doesn't seem to doubt what she said. a butterfly decided to take this moment to strike, and it lands on Karentina's nose. she looks at it and smiles.

Olive puts her hand over Leif's mouth so he doesn't try to eat it. "Karentina, you are the chosen one!" She lightheartedly laughs.

she laughs, then sneezes as the butterfly moves slightly, and it flits away. Karentina moves over to a tree and slides down to sit, and, remembering the flower crown, picks a few more flowers and finishes it. she passes a hand over it, and it twinkles as magic seeps in each petal, holding it forever in its age. she holds it out to Olive. "would you like this?"
