Nick fell completely silent and stood at the bottom of the wall. He looked up but refused to meet the blonde's eyes.

Dream frowned, not that Nick could see it, but he asked his question again. "Have you done this before, Nick?" He stopped climbing and glared down at his friend.

Sapnap flinched at Dream's tone. "I-" He did his best to keep his hands from shaking, but to no avail.

Dream exhaled. "Nick. Just answer the question! Have you or have you not done this before? I just need a yes or no!" He tried to keep his anger in check, but it wasn't working. He was getting angry with Nick and his stubborness.

Nick jumped away, as if Dream's voice was a weapon. He fought the tears that welled in his eyes. "I- I don't want to talk a-about it!" He protested.

Dream tilted his head to the side, a look of anger flashing across his face. He was thankful he put the mask on earlier. "Why not? You can't just tell me that you've done this before? Because everything you've said and done so far proves to me you have!"

"I-" Nick's throat tightened as tears started to fall. "He- M-My dad-" He reached out to grip the vines and steady himself, but missed and fell to his knees. "S-Showed me-"

Dream fell silent, his anger fading as fast as it appeared. "Oh. I - I didn't know. I'm sorry. Whatever." He snorted shaking his head. "Let's just get this done." He said, his voice becoming gentle again, guilt tugging at his heart.

Nick's hands wouldn't stop shaking as he pulled himself to his feet. He stayed silent as sad and angry tears streamed down his face.

Dream noticed his friend's tears and blamed himself. He had a bad tendency to upset his friend whenever he got mad. He Pulled himself to the top of the vines and climbed into the hallway. "Where now?" He whispered.

Nick got to the top and pulled himself through. He tried to wipe the tears away but they just fell faster as he froze and gazed down the hallway. It looks the same...why does it have to look the same?

Dream frowned. "Nick, where are we going?" He asked. "What are we going to do?"

Nick briefly glanced up at Dream before turning and nodding down the opposite end of the hall. He still couldn't bring himself to say anything as he slowly started toward the door.

Dream's confidence waivered. He could tell Sapnap was upset and he was behind it. He followed his friend reluctantly, quietly, until they reached the door. He glanced down at Sapnap then nodded at the door. "Who's opening it?" He whispered.

"It's not the prince's room, it's an unused extra bedroom," Sapnap said numbly as he twisted the knob and opened the door. He stepped inside and grabbed a torch from the wall.
