Clay laughed and smirked as he glanced over at Karl.
"Oh, s---......." Karl's mouth hung slightly open and he turned redder than a cherry. He looked over at Dream in shock. -
Nick also turned red, crossing his arms. "I'm f---ing done," He stated, starting to wade back to shore.
-
"NO!" Karl jumped forward without thinking and lost his footing. His arms wrapped around Nick's waist as he accidentally pulled them both under.
Clay gasped but was too far out at this point to help -
Nick gasped in surprise, accidentally inhaling a bit of water. He quickly grabbed Karl's wrists, pulling his hands apart and coming back to the surface, pulling Karl with him.
-
Clay fought his way towards where he could see Nick resurfacing. "ARE YOU OKAY!?" He yelled helplessly.
Karl's lungs filled with water and he panicked. The salt stung his throat and made him slightly dizzy. Or it was the sheer lack of oxygen. -
Nick coughed for a split second before crouching slightly and wrapping his arms around Karl, bringing the brunette back up to surface.
-
Karl felt dizzy, and his vision started to fade to black as if it were the end of a movie. He was barely aware of being above water at all, he still couldn't breathe.
Clay made it over and attempted to help Nick with Karl, but didn't know what to do and was starting to panic a little, his anxiety getting the better of him. -
"Karl? KARL-" Nick said, continuing to hold him up. "Clay- f---ing- hit his back or something- I think he's choking-"
-
Clay started hitting Karl's back, "Please Karl Please." He mumbled.
Karl started coughing up the water and gasping for air. His entire body shook, and he was still extremely dizzy. -
"Karl? Are you okay?" Nick asked quietly, starting to slowly walk back to the shore.
-
Karl clung to Nick, his arms wrapped around him. "I-I think so." He said between coughs.
Clay hovered around them, staying close by in case anything else went wrong. He blamed and hated himself for everything that just happened. -
"Let's go sit down," Nick said softly. "Can you stand for just a second?"
-
"I think so," Karl said weakly.
Clay started picking at his wrists, almost scratching himself. It was a habit he'd picked up a while ago, whenever something was his fault or went wrong. He hurt himself for it. Thankfully the other two were too preoccupied to notice. He looked down at Karl. "I'm right here, okay?"
"O-Okay" Karl replied. -
Nick nodded, glancing up at Clay with a look of gratitude as he continued back up, eventually making it out of the water. He walked a bit more, completely supporting Karl until they made it to an open patch of dry sand, where Nick lowered the brunette down to sit. "How're you feeling?"
-
"A little better," Karl said softly. He smiled up at Nick.
Clay continued to pick at his wrists, watching Karl fearfully. He followed them out of the water, and then made his way back to where their stuff was.
