"Don't leave...please" Clay looked up with fear in his eyes. "Nick please don't ever leave me I know I do stupid things and aggravate you but I'm sorry please!" The thought of losing Nick terrified him, and he felt like his best friend was sure to leave with all of his recent mistakes. "I know I'm not okay, I already know. But please."
-
Nick furrowed his brows. "I'm not leaving- don't worry about that-" He paused as his phone buzzed and he took his out of his pocket. He smiled a little, noticing it was a facetime from George. He picked it up, letting go of Clay's hand for a moment. "Hello, Gog-"
"Why isn't Clay responding?" George interupted, concern lacing his words. "And where are you?"
"The hospital," Nick said bluntly, chuckling awkwardly. "
"WHAT-" George exclaimed, quickly shutting up and glancing around him for a moment. "What happened??" -
Clay's eyes widened. "George!?" He asked.
"Nick!?" Karl said in confusion, his eyes fluttering open. He pulled himself to his feet and walked over to the bed. He looked down at Clay. "Oh my god are you okay!?"
"Yeah, I'm fine Karl. Thank you." Clay replied.
"Thank goodness," Karl mumbled as he moved around Nick and hugged him from behind. "I was worried." -
"Dream?" George echoed. "And is that Karl?"
Nick froze, flushing red. "Karl's here, yeah."
"Okay-" George sputtered for a moment, pausing. "Back to the main point, why are you in the hospital?" -
Karl leaned into frame, still hugging Nick. He quickly explained everything that had happened and Clay's suicidal move.
Clay's face burned with shame and his eyes fell to his wrists. "I'm sorry" He mumbled -
"Hey, no," Nick said, pointing a somewhat playful look at Clay.
"Jesus," George said, his eyes widening. "Are you okay now? Should I really be coming to Florida? I feel like I'd just be a burden-" -
Clay smiled gratefully before turning his attention to George. "NO! You're still coming!!" Clay said sternly.
Karl nodded in agreement and, still hugging Nick, and placed a hand on Nick's chest, not thinking -
Nick showed Clay on the facetime as he flushed an even deeper red, trying to ignore Karl and act natural.
"Are you sure?" George asked, uncertain. "You really don't seem like you're ready for me to come down. Especially tomorrow?" -
"Absolutely!!" Clay replied.
Karl suddenly realized what he did and jumped back. "Holy crap...I keep doing stuff like that I'm so sorry."
He rambled. -
George narrowed his eyes, staring Clay down for a moment before shrugging. "Fine, if you say so."
"I don't mind it," Nick said quietly with a shrug, glancing down at the floor. -
Karl's mouth hung open and he looked at Nick in shock. "Y-You don't?" He asked. His face was deep red.
"Thank god, I was worried for a second," Clay said with a sigh. -
"When would the plane ride be, now that we're on the subject," George asked.
"No," Nick mumbled, not daring to look Karl in the eye as he handed Clay his phone to his good hand. -
"When's the next flight?" Clay asked, taking the phone and smirking at Nick.
Karl moved back over to Nick and stood in front of him. "Y-You give me butterflies." He said softly. He could hear his heart pounding in his ears. "You make me f-feel safe." -
"Let me check," George stated. "Uh, nine pm for me, tonight."
Nick's eyes widened, and he continued looking at the floor. "Really?" -
"Then that's the flight you're getting on." Clay said sternly.
"Y-Yes. Absolutely." Karl said quietly.
