"I know," George said quietly. "Well- not really, but still I understand. And I won't leave you. I have nowhere else to go."
-
Clay shivered and leaned over, wrapping his arms around his friend's waist and pulling him close. As if he had to reassure himself that George was okay, that he was here. "I can't lose you, I can't lose any of you. It- It scares me more than anything else-" Tears streamed down Clay's face and he took a shaky breath. "That's why I beat myself up so much when I screw up. I'm terrified that you'll get more hurt, or Nick will get fed up with me and leave, or Karl will just get pissed. I love you, all of you."
-
"I don't think we'll leave," George said, reaching up and wiping Clay's tears away. "Trust me, we all love you back the same way."
-
"Are you sure?" Clay's voice was barely above a whisper.
-
"Completely sure," George said with a nod. "There's no doubt about it."
-
Clay nodded and pulled George closer, burying his face in his friend's shoulder.
-
"We're all here for you," George said quickly, rubbing Clay's back.
-
"I'm always here for you guys, It's not like I have anything better to do-" Clay joked, trying to lighten the mood for both himself and George.
-
George giggled a little, patting Clay's back. "Same here-"
-
Clay pulled away and smirked.
-
George rolled onto his back, watching Clay with a confused face. "What?"
-
Clay laughed diabolically and started tickling George's sides.
-
"AH- No- stop it," George said, squirming away and pressing himself up against the side of the tent as he did his best to block Clay with his blanket.
-
Clay pulled the blanket away and went for him. "C'mere, Geoooooooooooooorge-" Clay made his voice deeper as he inched closer.
-
"No, stop it-" George said with a laugh, moving away as much as he could.
