George blinked. "You what?"
-
"I want to say something...but I don't know how to," Clay whispered. His heart sped up and his hands shook slightly. WHAT THE f--- ARE YOU DOING!?
-
"Just say it," George whispered back, shrugging.
-
Clay turned back to face his friend again. "I... George I..." You've already gone this damn far, you can't go back now "I love you. Not- Not like a friend...M- More."
-
George paused, studying Dream for any sense of sarcasm. To his dismay, he didn't find any. "Really?"
-
Clay nodded weakly. "I like you, l- love you, whatever you want to call it." Clay took a deep breath, and spoke with passion and conviction. "I've liked you for months now. You're the person that makes me the happiest. You're the person that gives me butterflies and makes me blush. You're the person that I'd give my life up for. Half the time I just want to wrap my arms around you and protect you from all of this s---. I want so badly to take your pain away.
I- I nearly lost you earlier. All because of some stupid mistake of mine. I... I can't imagine life without you, George." Tears filled Clay's eyes and he sighed. -
George stayed silent for a moment, star-struck with his speech. "Me too." He said quietly, feeling dumb about how simple the statement was compared to what Dream had just said.
-
Dream blinked a couple of times in confusion. "W- Wait, what?" He asked, his voice barely audible.
-
"Me too," George repeated, tears filling his eyes and spilling over as regret dug a pit in his stomach.
-
Dream, in a sort of shock, turned over and wiped George's tears away as his own started to overflow. He didn't know what to say except ask "What's wrong?"
-
"I don't know," George said quietly.
-
Clay wrapped his arms around George and pulled him close. "You- You really-" He couldn't even finish, shock and pure joy rendered him speechless.
-
"Yeah," George said quietly. The whole thing felt... wrong to him. Don't get him wrong, he likes Clay a lot. But, it felt wrong to go straight to him just after he broke up with Matthew.
-
"Talk to me. You've got that look on your face." Clay whispered. "S- Somethings up."
-
George whined, hiding his face under Dream's chin. "No"
