Arianna dipped her head slightly down and pet Clarino's muzzle gently with her free hand.
"What is it, boy?" She whispered gently. -
He pointed to the latch on his stall with his nose. He wanted out. He hadn't been on a ride in so long and Phoenix was making him jealous.
-
Arianna chuckled softly and nodded, placing a hand on her hip.
"All right, you got me. Let's go, boy."
After getting him all saddled up, Arianna mounted him and walked Clarino out of the stable. Once they had reached the field, she made it a trot which soon turned into a gallop. -
Josiah smiled as he saw her dash past him. He spurred Phoenix into a gallop. "So you decided to come along?" he asked.
-
"No, I decided to break a few rules." Arianna said with a mischievous grin. "Plus, it seems like Clarino was a bit jealous of Phoenix. Honestly, this poor house needs to get out more!" She teased.
-
Josiah grinned at her. "Race you!" He urged Phoenix to go faster.
-
"I- HEY! Clarino, faster!" Arianna gasped, signaling the horse to go faster.
-
Josiah turned around to go back to the stable. "C'mon, girl, let's win this," he said to Phoenix, and his horse knew to go all out. He sped across the flat land, the stable a spot in the distance.
-
Arianna, who hadn’t rode a horse in years, galloped the beautiful horse after Josiah and Phoenix.
She kept urging the horse to go faster and faster.
Quicker and quicker.
Fast enough so that they could win this challenge. -
Soon, they were side by side. "Let's go!" he said. But Phoenix was already going as fast as she could.
The stable kept on coming closer and closer, and still, the two were galloping right next to each other.
It ended up being a tie. -
Arianna chuckled and pet Clarino's mane with a small smile.
"Congrats," She told Josiah. “We both won." -
"That's the closest anyone's ever gotten to winning a race against me," Josiah grinned as he hopped off Phoenix.
-
“I suppose you’ve met your match." Arianna smirked, playfully punching Josiah on the shoulder while her body shook with merry laughter.
-
"We'll see," he said. "Hopefully I remain the champion."
-
“I doubt you will,” Arianna said smugly, raising her head proudly and smiling teasingly. "I am a natural when it comes to riding horses.”
