(Oh god-)
(I can't imagine having to pin my hair back and use ribbons. I'd have to leave it down :,))
Arianna nodded and obediantely made her way to the kitchen to prepare their tea.
She put water in a medium-sized pot and boiled it over angry flames. Once it was bubbling, she dowsed water over the fire and put the needed ingredients inside the pot to make tea. -
Josiah stood up and walked into the kitchen. "Hello," he said.
-
Arianna let out a small squeal and jumped up a little. She hadn't expected someone to come into the kitchen.
She spun around and looked at the person with curiosity.
"Hello," Arianna repeated. -
"Sorry," Josiah chuckled. He grabbed two mugs from the cupboard. "It's nice to meet you, Arianna."
-
"It's perfectly okay. And, it’s nice to meet you too, Sir."
-
"Please, just Josiah," he said. He took the pot from over the fire. "Does my father treat you well?" he asked as he poured the tea into a ceramic tea pot.
-
Arianna nodded. "Yes, he’s quite strict though. But you could expect that from a master." She chuckled.
-
"I agree with you, he is rather strict," Josiah said. He put the mugs and the pot on a tray, then brought them to the table he and his father had been sitting at.
"What are you doing, that's her job," Mr. Brierton said.."I never paid for your way to America."
"No," Josiah said, "but you did pay for my way to school." -
Arianna did a small facepalm. It seemed like this boy was trying to get her into more trouble than she already was in.
"Sorry about that, sirs." She mumbled, bringing in some snacks for the two males to snack on. -
"You have no reason to apologize," Josiah said simply.
-
Arianna bit her lip in worry as she glanced at Mr. Brierton. She believed Josiah, but she also didn't want to get in trouble with her boss.
She did a simple curtsy and took her place near a wall. -
Soon enough Josiah was in his room unpacking his things. He was glad to be back home. He missed his father.
-
Arianna apologized profusely to Mr. Brierton.
"I'm terribly sorry, sir. I wasn’t quite in my right mind when I let my hair fall down." She said silently. “That was my fault. I’m sorry." -
"How many times have I told you," Mr. Brierton fumed, "to act properly in this house? And how many times have you never listened?!"
Josiah looked up from his dresser in confusion. His father was being awfully loud. He couldn't quite make out what was being said, but he decided he should go downstairs and see what was wrong. -
"Um, about over twenty times, I think?" Arianna whispered, wincing.
