Then as Ruby's blade swished through the air, Zack stepped forward on purpose, the blade running into his chest. His sword not even raised in defense, dropped to the floor clattering. He dropped to the ground, with a smile on his face.

Ruby screamed. Dropping down to Zack’s side, she looked at his face in fear. “Why did you do that?” She asked softly, not knowing what to do about anything anymore. -
"I can't be he..." He said and the door slide open to showing guard's and healer's. Max and a few other people helped Ruby leave the room.

Ruby shook her head. This was her fault. “I don’t wanna leave-“ -
[No, he is my main character, I need him.]
"You have to leave unless you want to see lots of blood and guts." Max explained as the door's slide shut behind them. -
“I don’t care!” She shouted as she opened the door again and ran into the room.

They had his shirt open and they were cleaning the wound and trying to make it stop bleeding. They were whispering as they took more wads of paper towels and were dabbing it trying to put pressure on his wound. Blood was druling out of his mouth and he looked really pale.

“God...” she whispered. Looking to the healers, she asked, “will he be okay...?”

"Shhhs.." They responded, Zack was barely moving and they were working at a rapid pace trying to get him stitched up. But the wound just kept bleeding, the blood sparkling a bright juicy red.

She could tell that he wasn’t going to survive. It wasn’t just an attempt this time. She looked down and sat on the floor, looking away because it was too difficult to look at someone in that state.

Max put her hand on Ruby's shoulder, "He'll make it." She whispered to Ruby. The bleeding slowly started to stop and the healer's were starting to move at a quicker pace than before.

Ruby nodded. “Ok,” she whispered back. Looking back to Zack, she saw the blood. Flashbacks entered her head of earlier. Flashes. She put her fingers on her temples and shook her head vigorously.

They had him stitch and bandaged up in under a hour. "See, I told you he would be okay." Max whispered to her, and the healer's left the room leaving the guards to watch over him.

Ruby smiled softly. Then she turned to Max. “What now?”

"You can stay here with him." Max turned away after responding and the door slide shut behind her.
