He blinked and then nodded excitedly

She grabbed her usual bear skin fur coat for herself, and a wolf fur coat for Era. "Do you want me to put holes in it, for your wings? Or do you want to try and fit them inside?"

He eyed the coat "ill try to fit them under it first" he said, taking it

Likalca nodded, putting on her bear skin coat. "Today I'm going to try and find nuts or any berries that have survived the winter." She explained.

He nodded "i can help with that

She grabbed an old notebook with herbs, spices, and mushrooms written in it, and how to identify poisonous plants. "Never get holly berries or brightly colored mushrooms." She instructed, handing him the book.

He nodded "ok!" He said, opening the book

After she made sure he had his coat on, she pushed open the secret door. "Ready to go?"

He nodded "yep!

She led him out into the chilly forest, definitely below freezing, but they would be very warm in the fur coats.

Era looked around with a smile

Likalca closed the secret door behind him, showing him a path that led to a hollow behind the cave. Her breath turned to an icy, solidified mist in the even colder hollow. "There should be some mushrooms here, but don't get them all." She said, getting some grayish brown ones.

He nodded, helping her pick some

She handed him one of two cloth bags she had brought with her. "Put them in this." She said, putting the mushrooms she had picked in her own bag, avoiding the yellow, orange, and red mushrooms. "If you don't know what something is, or it's not written in the book, ask me before you touch it.

He nodded "oke dokie" he said, carefully putting the shooms away
