"Can't do chicken soup," Harlow said. "I practically lived off of that stuff for too long. Hate the taste now."

"Green bean casserole it is!" Coraline said, flinging her fridge open. "A capital choice. You must have eaten an awful lot of chicken soup to hate it."

Coraline heated up the green bean casserole and dumped a heap onto a plate, sliding it across the table to Harlow, along with the necessary utensils. "Eat up." -
Harlow raised his eyebrows as he ate the casserole. "I must compliment the cook," he said.

"You flatter me," Coraline said playfully, spooning out a portion for herself and sitting down. "So, tell me about yourself."

"What would you like to know?" Harlow asked.

"Everything," Coraline said plainly, her steely gaze fixed upon her guest. "Start from the top."

"I"m sorry," Harlow said. "I'm terrible at storytelling."

Coraline ate a spoonful of casserole. "What's the earliest thing you can remember?"

Harper let out a laugh. "My older brother arguing with my dad over whether he should have the dog or I."

"I don't remember, I was two," Harlow said.
