Mason was listening to their conversation and said "Okay, you didn't answer her second question and you said your name was Yuki when you came to us a second ago. Are you lying or something."

"Sorry..... My name is Yuki......" Shayla said with a sigh. I don't live here. Or anywhere near here." She said with another sigh. -
"How do you know my name?" Spes asked again, raising a brow and crossing her arms. She wondered if the girl was avoiding the question on purpose or whether she just hadn't heard it... Probably the former. Such a shame that someone with a perfect skill for espionage would be such a terrible actress.

"I overheard your name by a bartender." Shayla said. She then stared at the ceiling.

"Hmm. So, what is your business with me?" Spes asked, beginning to walk circles around the woman, examining her. She wanted to intimidate the woman, she wanted the woman to know that she wouldn't let anything happen to herself or her crew.

"I just wanted to ask you if you know what a totem is." Shayla said trembling.

Spes raised an eyebrow. This woman was an odd sort. "Totems are common knowledge, almost everyone has one." Spes replied, chuckling in an almost mocking way. "They're special trinkets, special gems, that give you magical powers. Why?" She asked, not going into the details of everything she knew, only stating what was common knowledge. She then stopped walking and stood in front of the woman, hands on her hips as she waited for an answer.

"Just wondering. Because I gave my stepsister Shayla two of those totem things on her birthday. I found them on the beach that day when I came to visit." Shayla said. "Now I must be going. Bye."

Mason looked at Spes and said "That was weird. What was she trying to do?"

"I fully agree with your statement Mason... I haven't the slightest idea what she wanted, but I'm suspecting that she is actually the same girl that threatened us earlier... I didn't see any girls by the bar that look like her, and she mentioned that girl just now. I'm assuming that her totem allows her to transform into different appearance." Spes speculated with crossed arms. "I'm debating whether to steal said totem for our own usage, and to prevent her from becoming a danger to us, or to recruit her so we can keep a close eye on her... Then again, I feel like she would be a nuisance if we hired her." Spes went on in a thoughtful tone.

Mason said "That would be a problem. Plus she's either a compulsive liar or she really has a knack for saying contradictions. Not exactly traits of a good person."

Orwin thought about it for a moment. "You could hire her and say you'll pay her later. If she turns out bad, then steal her totem, keep her hostage, whatever. But if she's helpful, then you could probably do that anyway. Either way, she wouldn't be able to fight off all of us."

Shayla reached her house and took off her totem necklace. Her totem earings she kept on so she could sing while cleaning.
