(@safire, I’m really sorry, but this isn’t a roleplay you can join in on. If you want, I could make a thread and do a different roleplay with you in there?)
“Which would be?” Turner prodded. -
"I don't know," Callyn sputtered. "We'd just call it stir fry at home," she said as she got into the car.
-
Turner opened his car door and sat down in his seat, a look of sheer excitement on painted on his face.
"Could I help with the cooking?" He asked, putting the keys into the hole. "I've got some experience with it." -
"I don't see why not," Callym shrugged with a small smile on her face.
-
"We could make a steak stir fry, if you want." Turner suggested.
-
"Sure," Callyn said. And soon they were driving back home.
-
When they arrived at the house, Turner got out of the car and opened the car door for Callyn. Soon, they headed inside.
Turner smiled brightly as he entered to furnitureless house. He inhaled a huge breath of hair.
“Yes, it smells like lint in here!” He exclaimed. -
( *leather)
(autocorrect why must you do this to me) -
(She doesn't have a stove yet though I figured they went to Turner's.)
Callyn smiled and walked into the kitchen. She grabbed various ingredients and set them on the counter. "Can you cut the vegetables while I cube the meat?" -
(Crap crap crap-)
(I change what I said to Turner’s house)
Turner nodded and swiftly grabbed a butcher knife from the drawers containing knives. He cut each vegetable with precise movements and piled them all into a metal bowl once he had finished. -
Meanwhile, Callyn had started the rice and cubed the meat and soaked it in soy sauce before frying it in a pan while seasoning it. Once the meat was cooked she put the vegetables in and put the lid on top. All that was left was for the vegetables to steam and the rice to finish cooking.
-
Turner rocked back on forth on his heels at whistled a small tune.
“So, what do you want to do while we wait?” He asked. -
Callyn shrugged. "I don't know," she said.
After another moment she asked, "What ever happened to your dad?" -
“My father?” Turner fiddled with his fingers as he answered the question. “We haven’t talked much lately, but he’s doing fine.”
“Have you talked to Mamita?” Turner asked, quickly changing the subject. -
"Not since yesterday," Callyn said, pointing out how frequently they go there.
Just then her timer went off, saying that the food was ready. Right as she turned off the timer, her phone started ringing. A call from her mom. She debated herself for a few moments, should she pick up?
She looked up at Turner. "Can you dish up the food while I take this?"
Without waiting for a response, she picked up the phone.
"Yes?" she said.
"Callyn!" her mom said. "I have wonderful news!"
"...What is it?" she replied hesitantly.
"Your father and I are remarrying!"
Callyn's jaw dropped to the floor. So that was what her dad was doing back here. "Are you deranged?!"
"No, Callyn, I –"
"He abandoned us, mom! Surely you can't have forgotten that!"
"He's changed, Callyn," her mom said.
"People rarely change."
"Oh of course you wouldn't understand," her mom said getting angry. "You never did accept it was your fault he left in the first place, why would you accept this? Maybe it's a good thing since he never loved you in the first place, he doesn't have to bear your presence!"
Callyn clenched her jaw. "Goodbye, mom," she said. She pulled the phone away from her ear. She heard a bit of chatter coming out of it but she couldn't exactly make out what it was. So she hung up the phone.
