Turner nodded his head in agreement and offered his arm to Callyn. "Shall I escort you to the car, m'lady?"
-
Callyn smiled. "Of course," she said, taking his arm.
-
“Wait, your cane!” Turner yelped as he dragged Callyn along with him to grab the cane. He turned to Callyn with a small smile planted on his face. “Just in case.”
-
Callyn rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. She appreciated that he was looking out and caring for her.
-
Turner carefully walked Callyn to the car, taking note of any steps that would throw off her balance. He opened the passengers side of the car for her.
-
"So we basically need to refurnish the whole house," Call said as they started driving to the furniture store. "So I think since I'm only going to have so much money just look look at the basics, like a bed and a fridge and so on and then once I have enough money I can start getting things I actually like," she rambled, trying to organize her thoughts by talking to Turner
-
Turner nodded along as if he was agreeing with her. “It sounds like a pretty big list. Are we doing it all today?”
-
"We're just looking," Callyn said. "And if we get tired we can always go back. Also I can't really afford to be picky about anything."
(I'm shocked! Turner letting her be self-sufficient and not insisting to buy her the car and furniture like he had been?) -
(Mhm~! >:3)
“Wait, so we aren’t buying anything?” Turner asked, resisting the urge to turn his line of sight away from the road and to Callyn. His lips quirked downwards. He turned the wheel slightly right to drive down a curve in the road. -
"I already told you, no," Callyn said. "I only have enough money saved up to get either a used car or a few pieces of furniture." She though for a moment. "But then I'm going to have to take out of the money I'm setting aside for furniture for gas. And I'd been fine waking up at 5am to get to work at 6, I could just keep doing that. Maybe we will get a few things."
-
(Honestly, the cost of living nowadays has gone up astronomically.)
“I see, I see. And you’re sure you don’t want me to help you out?” -
Callyn pursed her lips. "Honestly I would appreciate any help you're willing to give," she said. "But I don't think I can accept it. You've already done too much for me. This would be too much."
-
Turner bit down firmly on his lip, shame and guilt seeming to pour in and out of his body.
"If causing you to get run over by a car is too much, then yeah it's too much.” -
Callyn looked at him in confusion. "Turner that wasn't your fault," she said. "Why would you think that?"
-
Turner fell silent for a moment. A few seconds later, he gave her a weak smile.
"Never mind, forget about it. It isn't important anyway. The past is in the past. It's time to live in the present and pick out some furniture for you! Then we can go to a car dealership and then buy you a car. I saved up a lot of money for this.”
