"How is it?" Cass asked.

Captain shrugged "i dont know. Nice, i guess?" He said clearly uncertain

"Maybe something else," Cass decided. "Do you like fruit? Or...what?"

Captain just shrugged, seeming more confused and mildly frustrated as his wings twitched

"Here, go ahead and choose something," Cass decided, sensing his frustration.

Captain just blinked in confusion, not understanding

"What do you want to eat?" Cass said.

"I....i dont know?" Captain said hesitantly

"I'll just give you everything then, and you can decide what you like and don't like," she said, rummaging through her fridge.

Captain blinked at her in mild alarm "why?!?

"Because," Cass said, confused. "Don't you want to eat things that you like?"

Captain just looked confused and distressed as he shook his head

"Okay...what do you want?" Cass said.

"I dont know! Its not supposed to want anything!"

"You are not an it," Cass said. "How many times do I have to say this? You are a being and you can have wants and desires."
