April looked at her shoulder but couldn't see the glow. She could see everyone else glow and she looked at the stone circles as they began to glow. She walked to the one with a leaf on it and a column of light shone up from it. She said "I think we need to get on our circles. Like in the dream."
-
-
Callyn stood on her circle in amazement. She was not the type to dillydally, after all. If answers to this whole mystery could be found after standing there, then Callyn would not hesitate.
Kim hadn't even noticed he'd walked into his circle, and looked down at his arms and legs in slight disappointment. Where was his glow? Was this all a mistake- did he really belong here amongst these cool magical people?
Reese shook here head at Julius. "Not today, anyway," She answered. Reese walked past Kim, lightly slapped him on the back of the neck where his birthmark was glowing, and stood on her own circle with a giggle. Kim looked confused at her. -
-
Julius had no idea why everyone was glowing all of a sudden and felt confused. "Do I have a glow?" he asked Reese, feeling stupid.
-
(Is Julius getting in his circle?)
-
(Oops, should have mentioned that. Lemme rewrite my response)
Julius had no idea why everyone was glowing all of a sudden and felt confused. He was even more confused when everyone began stepping on pads. He cautiously stepped on one, turning to Reese.
"Do I have a glow?" he asked her, feeling stupid. -
Once everyone's circle began to glow, the spire also began shining brightly. It then began converting into something. Parts of it began to move and change until the spire began to resemble a large pedestal. It then began producing a warbling sound and a hologram of an unknown, ancient man showed up on the pedestal.
-
Callyn gazed at the figure, a wave of nostalgia filling her, yet she didn't know why. It made no sense, but she felt like she knew this place and these people.
Kim posed in a tentative stance, somewhere between awe and defense. He was unsure of how to react to the ancient man.
"You do," Reese reassured Julius in a whisper as she did two thumbs up, completely unphased by the hologram. She motioned to his back. -
Julius felt a warm fuzzy feeling. He had a glow too, he wasn't there by mistake. His attention was drawn to the hologram.
-
The ancient man coughed and said "Hello. I am Ignatius and I used to be the god of fire. If you are watching this holo-projection, then the day I and my siblings feared is about to come to pass. I'm sure you are confused by allow me to explain. Many eons ago, I and seven other gods ruled the Earth in peace with the humans having the most advanced civilizations ever. Our eldest brother, Kazuki, god of light, was the most respected, but our brother, Melanthios, god of darkness, grew jealous of his reverence and casted a spell on Kazuki, who fell into a deep slumber. Melanthios then unleashed monsters on the humans. We fought hard and won, sealing Melanthios away for now, but at a cost. We lost our powers performing such a feat and we could not wake up Kazuki. Worse still, the humans forgot about us and no longer believed. We put our sleeping brother in an atoll and decided to live with the humans to bid our time until true champions could wake him. That time is now."
-
Callyn crossed her arms and said nothing, just looked at the strangers around her contemplatively.
Kim looked at the projection, eyes wide with awe. "Champion? He said champion?! As in me? Oh my god," Kim sucked in a breath, excitement coursing through him. This could all be some elaborate prank, but we was ready to set aside his doubts and believe the hologram wholeheartedly.
"Shhhh, he may not be done," Reese said to Kim. She wondered what Ignatius meant by champion. Would they, too, have to fight shadow monsters? -
Julius's brain was taking some time to comprehend all of this at once. When it did sink in, he felt a little weak-kneed. Champions for ancient gods? Fighting shadow monsters? His mom would go nuts.
-
Ignatius continued "You five are descended from us. We are your ancestors. You are the true champions who will find and awaken Kazuki and defeat Melanthios. We have hidden clues to the location of the atoll around the world, but we cannot tell you where they are hidden or where the atoll is. We don't want our enemy getting vital information. In a different room, you will find something to help you on your journey. You must awaken Kazuki at all costs, or else Melanthios will kill every human in the world and light will never exist ever again." A part of the wall suddenly opened to reveal another stair case as he said some of this. Ignatius then concluded by saying "Good luck, champions. Make us proud." the projection then shut off and five beams of energy shot out from the spire hitting everyone. When this beam hit April, she felt like some sort of force was entering her, but it didn't hurt. It felt more like nothing she had ever felt before. It was almost like a power surge.
-
Callyn backed away in alarm when the beam hit her. Callyn's long dark haired suddenly flowed up around her as she was filled with an energy she didn't know was possible.
Kim, however, stepped forward proudly. The energy was strange, like he was being electrocuted and burned at the same time, yet it was not at all painful. If only he'd had enough energy in his phone to take a selfie.
"I am... gonna make... so many... cool drawings inspired by this moment..!" Reese sputtered out as the beam hit her, unable to talk properly with the shockwave of power.
