Kim kicked a part of the memorial unenthusiasticly. "Maybe this is a prank or somethin," he said. He was still a little baffled by all this.
"Someone pranked us by controlling our dreams, huh?" Reese replied as she too looked around the memorial for anything that stuck out. -
Julius glanced around. "Yeah, I don't see anythi-"
He cut off abruptly, staring transfixed at a tiny little circular object, swinging gently. He pushed it away and it revealed a tiny little crevice. Just out of reach was a rolled up piece of paper. -
April said "I don't see how someone could." She saw the same crevice that Julius saw and said "Does anyone have a small stick or something? This paper might be important."
-
Callyn grabbed a stick off the ground. They were in a park, there were sticks galore. She handled it to Julius. He was taller than she was.
-
-
Kim shined his flashlight on the crevice so they could get a better view of the piece of paper. Otherwise he stood quiet, just taling everything in.
"Curiouser and curiouser," Reese muttered to herself. She nudged Julius, excited for him to pull it out so they could see what mysteries it held. -
Robo, can you please make what it says?))
Julius used the stick to pull it out, grabbing it before it fell back into its little nook. -
(I was going to.)
April looked at the paper. It was well old, about as old as the spire itself. Unfolding it revealed a message written in black ink. April said "It says: Find the button with the symbols of the ancient elements. A path forward shall be revealed only to those who are worthy of it. What button could that mean?" -
-
Callyn looked confused. She examined the Spire from top to bottom. Unless she had missed something, she didn't see any "button with the symbols of the ancient elements."
-
Kim helped everyone's investigation by keeping his phone flashlight on the spire. He felt super excited, though he was trying his best to hide it. Kim felt like one of the main characters in a mystery anime.
"That paper looks old, so maybe the button is old too. Could be camouflaged to look like part of the spire," Reese guessed. She started tapping the spire in random places to test this theory. -
Thank ya!))
"Button," Julius muttered to himself, searching. He tried to keep his mind open so that he wouldn't miss something important. He heard Reese's theory and shrugged. "Maybe." -
April said "Yeah but still, symbols of the ancient elements? Do they mean, earth, fire and air or something else?" She began looking around. It didn't look like the spire even had such a button.
-
"I'm not sure," Callyn said as she gazed up at the spire. "Probably. Aristotle argued that everything was made up of those kinds of elements. I'd say he's pretty ancient."
