"It's possible," Imogen said, shrugging. "Anything is."
-
"True," Oliver sighed. "If you were going to murder Mr. Marlen, how would you have done it?"
-
"Well, first you'd have to darken my conscience, then I'd need to have a reason for killing Mr. Marlen," Imogen said.
-
"Any number of reasons are there. What would be most compelling to you?" Oliver asked. "To the point of murdering him?"
-
"I wouldn't know, I've never killed someone before," Imogen said.
-
"I know that," Oliver said exasperatedly. "But if you did..."
-
"You know I can't come up with things like that!" Imogen said.
-
"Alright then. I'll plan a murder. I suppose a compelling reason would be if I was wronged, or if someone I cared about was wronged. Then, I would wait for Nina to arrive, to blame it on her. I would force her to run far away, or kill her myself," Oliver said. "If I was a murderous psychopath."
-
"You never know," Imogen said. "You might be."
-
Oliver laughed. "You know me better then that."
-
"Do I though?" Imogen said, as if she had just come across a great discovery.
-
Oliver rolled his eyes, opening the car door for her. "More than anyone else I know."
-
"Where to next?" Imogen asked.
-
Oliver shrugged, as Hannah clambered into the back seat. "Maybe we should get Hannah to a place where she can be taken care of for now."
"No," Hannah said stubbornly.
Oliver raised his eyebrows. "Or not."
(I just realized that Oliver and Imogen are similar to James and Gaynor.) -
(I noticed that too. They are good characters, though.)
"Hannah, you're going to have a long day ahead of you," Imogen said.
(I keep on imagining this place at night all the time.)
