"Yes," Imogen said. "That would be best."
-
Oliver pulled into the police station, and helped Hannah out. Hannah stuck close to Imogen and Oliver.
-
(but that's what I'm thinking right now. the visitor posing as the maid)
Imogen walked into the police station. She wasn't sure how all of this would turn out. Hannah would be able to see if it was a fraud or not. But what if it was a look-alike? -
There, in the interrogation room, was the maid. She was very mannerly looking, and Hannah nodded in confirmation that it was Susan.
Oliver sat down to interrogate her. "So, you were sick on the day of the attack."
"Yes, I was," the maid said. "And it is absolutely preposterous that I am being held here. I have been working for that family for eleven years!" -
"And that's long enough to develop some very strong negative feelings towards them," Imogen said.
-
"Me? Never," she said, although she didn't sound very sure of herself. "I've practically raised up Hannah myself, what with her parents being so busy."
-
"You don't sound so positive," Imogen said.
(Ok, my mouse is literally squeaking rihgt now XD. when I'm scrolling) -
"And what are you insinuating?" Susan scowled.
(Your mouse is like "SAVE ME") -
(From whar, though? I'm a delight.)
"That you're hiding something," Imogen said, simply. -
("I NEED A RAISE")
"It would be none of your business if I was," the maid retorted. -
"It is our business," Imogen said, "Because that suggests that you killed Mr. Marlen."
(Try samying Mr. Marlen 10 times fast without ending up saying "missed your mark and.") -
(missed a marl and)
"I did not!" the maid said furiously. "I was home sick! Go ahead, ask Susannah or Becky, my neighbors, they came to take care of me, bless their souls." -
"We'll look into it," Imogen said. "But do you know anyone who would want to kill Mr. Marlen?"
-
"I am NOT incriminating any of the Marlen family, or their staff," the maid said, clearly miffed.
"What about their visitor?" Oliver said.
"She seemed a perfectly pleasant woman," the maid replied. -
"Seemed?" Imogen asked.
