Phen tilted his head in confusion and mouthed the word "what?

"Discombobulated," Ardis repeated. "You know, caught off guard."

"That is a very weird word.

"Precisely why I like it," she said, regaining her usual swagger. Maybe not swagger. Perhaps dignity.

Phen snorted softly

She looked at the sky. The bright blue was fading into a golden sunset. They had been traveling for a while.

Phen turned his head to look at the sunset

Ardis was reluctant to set up camp, but she knew that if she didn't start soon, it would be tricky. She hopped off of her horse and set about making a tall shelter.

Phen hopped off and helped her

The two looked akin to birds building a nest, what with Phen having wings and Ardis flitting around here and there, excitedly bringing back items for the construction of the shelter.

Phen winced as he tried to pick something up with his broken wing, quickly moving his tail to support the branch

Ardis spotted Phen's pained expression. "Are you alright?"

Phen nodded "yep, just tried to lift something with my broken wing

Ardis felt his wing, checking if he had done any more damage to it. "I can finish the rest of the shelter."
