Ardis looked around. "I should probably, I mean, we should probably get started on a shelter."

Phen shrugged before looking around

Ardis started setting some sticks together in the rough shape of a shelter. Then it began to rain. She swore as the rain pummeled down on her feeble shelter.

Phen walked over to help, opening his good wing and holding it over her

(*dies from cuteness*)
Ardis looked gratefully up Phen. -
Phen grinned at her, the long tendrils on his head and back pressed flat from the rain

"If only I knew how to do something a little more helpful," she said, turning her sword into the biggest shield possible, holding it up over Phen.

Phen snorted softly "cant know everything" he said

"Well, I wish I knew more than this," she said, punctuating her sentence by shaking her shield a bit.

Phen just shrugged, peering out at the rain

Ardis imagined rain back at home. Savannah would press her face against the window, excited. Her father would worry about the crops and the livestock. Her mother would probably tend to little Kansi, who would fall asleep to the rhythmic pattering of the rain on the windows.

Phen careful sat down, his tail curling around himself

Ardis sighed, sitting down. "It's too bad an umbrella isn't a weapon."
She hoisted the shield higher to keep it above Phen's head, who was taller than her. -
Phen tilted his head at her "you dont have to do that, i dont mind getting wet

"You'll get cold," Ardis said stubbornly.
