"At least she respected your decision, and didn't force you on," Kenna said. I don't quite understand why he was trying to kill himself over this, she thought. I understand guilt, though I've had hardly ever felt it. But what's happened has happened, and you can't change it. You don't dwell on the past, but learn from it.
Then she realized she had said all of her thoughts aloud. -
Julius glared at her.
-
"It's all true," Kenna said. "I'm not going to lie. I just hadn't expected my mouth to speak my thoughts."
-
"you wouldn't have said that if you knew my past kid." Rin said
(I aspire to be like Rin) -
(Ok)
"You're right," Kenna said, "I don't know your past. But that's what I've noticed with my friends who get depressed because of what's happened to them. Their minds are only one the past, yes I know their pasts aren't as large as yours is, but they just keep on dwelling on it, and then it's too great for them. And those are the times that I feel guilt. That I couldn't do something for them." -
"don't try telling me off for something that's already happened." Rin said.
-
"I'm not telling you off for something that's happened," Kenna said. "I'm telling you off for what you're doing about it now."
-
"well then I guess you don't need help if you're so smart." Rin said.
-
"Thanks for the compliment," Kenna said. "But yes, I've already started thinking of ways we can get back."
-
"well I'm going to the old kingdom and using the teleporter. Anyone who won't bother me about my decisions is welcome to join." Rin said.
-
"Namely, not me," Kenna said.
-
"well if you don't bother me about my past decisions then you can come." Rin said.
-
"Alright," Kenna said. She knew she had already done what could be done. His brain had to do the rest. And anyway, she'd never be able to go to the Old Kingdom if she said no. Of course she could follow them. She could be sneaky like a cat. But that's not right.
-
"Alright let's go," Eve said. She hoped soon she would be home.
-
Dallas had watched the argument and stopped leaning against her tree now that it was over. She walked behind Rin.
