"Well, I can understand if you get scared of Grace," Seth said. "She's vicious when she wants to be. But I'm a delight!"
~~~
Matthew didn't know what to do. "I'd like to be alone for awhile," was all he said. He had two sides racking at his brain at the moment, and he couldn't think straight. -
Grace had decided that tonight she felt more feminine, and she allowed her long hair to be freed from the tight braid’s that kept it so short looking. She smiled as she then glanced over at her jewellery, she had to bring her bracelet of course in case things got nasty, but what else.
-
Astra sighed as she got into her dress and finished her hair and makeup. Her carriage would arrive nearer the time to leave and so she indulged herself with a glass of wine, -
Androw chuckled. "Oh, I don't fear her at all. She's rather interesting, actually. Much more animated than other girls I've ever met."
~
Erissa deflated, but she couldn't push him. After all, it wasn't like they were friends; they had just met. "As you wish," she said, dipping her head. "I hope to see you again tonight." She took off in the opposite direction of him, deciding it may be best if she return home to decide on an outfit for the ball. -
"Animated, yes," Seth said, raising his eyebrows. "But catch her in one of her bad moods, and you'll never see the light of day again."
~~~
Matthew went against a tree, and sank down, not caring about the condition of his jacket. He was a werewolf. There were others who knew what he was and found him as normal. But he didn't even know what normal was anymore. Was it normal to have pet tigers? Was it normal to call humans 'mundies?' He didn't know. -
Grace came down the stairs once it was time to go. She had asked Edward to prepare a carriage for them, as she didn’t feel it was right to deprive the institute of its single carriage.
Grace waited by the stairs for the other two.
-
Astra was outside in her garden waiting in her two guests to arrive. The carriage she had would be pulled by two creatures that vaguely resembled horses. She found them to be faster and more reliable. Though they did often attempt to snack on clueless mundanes who got too close. -
"Oh? I don't know her well, and yet.." Androw touched his chest, laughing slightly. "I hope I never encounter her when she is in a bad mood. I wish to have my head on my shoulders for at least another few years or so."
Time seemed to go by rather quickly as the two boys talked. When Mr. Twarby came up to them to tell Androw that him and his wife were finally ready to leave, Androw politely explained that he would be going along with Grace and Seth to a ball.
"I see," Mr. Twarby said, looking rather pleased. "Evalina and Fredrick offered for you to stay as long as you'd like for the evening. Perhaps you should consider spending the night here at the Institute, presuming your ball lasts for quite some time."
"Good idea," Androw agreed. "So I can go, then?"
"Of course!" Mr. Twarby grinned, clasping his son's back rather aggressively. "We will see you tomorrow. Be safe." He dipped his head towards Seth. "Thank you for welcoming my son."
~
Erissa, who was quite familiar with balls and parties and the like, had several dresses to select from. But she didn't have much time to decide; it took her forever to push herself through the throng of people to return home. She hastily got dressed and hurried back out onto the streets. Luckily, since night had fallen, the number of people out on the street dwindled. She was able to make it to Astra's home on time. -
Seth nodded politely at Mr. Twarby. "We should probably get ready," Seth said. "I'll show you where your room is." He led Androw through various corridors, and the such, until they reached a door. "We always prepare rooms for visiting Shadowhunters," Seth said. "We've found that once they cone they're not much in the mood to leave."
~~~
Matthew soon realized that it was late, and he had to go to a ball. With a group of various kinds of people, he might add. He rushed home, and got ready. Soon, he was indeed ready. He searched for the address he had been given. -
Grace checked the time on her pocket watch. She knew they had about ten minutes, and smiled. This was going to be so incredibly fun. She felt that here may have been something she forgot to tell the boys, but she shrugged it off, it couldn’t have been that important.
-
Astra smiled. “ oh you look fantastic...Didni get your name earlier?” She asks the faerie. “ or we’ll, the name you would be willing to share of course.” The warlock shrugs waiting on the werewolf. -
Androw was rather surprised to hear that they already had a room ready. However, there they were, before a door to a room that was ready— just for him. He felt a strange mixture of excitement and nervousness at realizing he had the opportunity to live with fellow Shadowhunters other than his own family. "I see," he said, staring at the door handle. "I.. Well, I wasn't sure what I had planned, but.. I'm glad that everything seems to be falling into place!" He looked up at Seth with a smile. "We should go find Grace, shouldn't we? It's almost time to leave."
~
Erissa debated whether or not she wanted to tell the High Warlock her name. Then again, Astra probably knew many people and had many names swarming about in her head. She'd likely forget Erissa after tonight. "I go by Erissa," she said politely, smoothing some of the wrinkles in her dress. "I'd ask you for your name, but— I've heard much about you.." -
"Yes, let's go," Seth said. He led him back to the entrance hall, where he saw Grace. "This is a once in a lifetime moment," Seth said. "You will never see Grace like this again. She looks lovely."
~~~
Nathan found the address, and was out the door. He arrived at the house, and walked up the front steps. -
Grace laughs gently. “ well never say never.” She says smiling softly. “ you both look great.” She compliments them. She had some silver hairpieces in her hair. She looked elegant.
-
Astra smiled pleasantly. “ I’ll be sure to remember.” She says pleasantly before she waves Matthew over to them. “ aw you look great, are you ready to go?” -
(Never say never whatever you do . . . )
Seth took of his hat and gave an magnificent bow. When he rose, he said, "Shall we be off, then?"
~~~
Matthew saw Astra waving at him. "I suppose so," he said, walking up to her. -
Androw gazed at Grace. He had barely had contact with girls aside from his own family. Seeing Grace in front of him in such a nice dress made him blush. "You look lovely, Grace." He looked away, grinning as Seth bowed to her. "Oh, yes. We better hurry. We wouldn't want to be late."
~
Erissa was surprised to hear Astra say she'd make sure to remember her name. She felt.. Touched. When Astra called out to Matthew, the fey turned her head, glancing in his direction. "Oh, look at you!" She exclaimed. She didn't want to say it out loud, but Matthew looked handsome; and Astra, of course, was gorgeous. She felt a small twinge of jealousy thinking about their beauty. -
Grace became flushed when she noticed how Androw was blushing as he saw her. She smiled gently. “ let’s go! I want to get there before Astra Blight, see what sort of entrance she intends to make.” She says off handedly as she steps out of the institute to see the carriage has arrived.
-
Astra smiled as she simply stepped inside the carriage waiting for her guests to follow. Eddie would certainly approve of this lot. -
Seth walked out to the carriage, and helped Grace in. Then he sat across from her. "Who's hosting this anyway?" he asked as he got into a comfortable position.
~~~
"Hello, Erissa," Matthew said, being polite, even if she was on the creepy side.
