Grace frowned. “ Andrew? Uh ...Andrew oh! Twarby!” She says. “ oh alright, I remember now.” She says leaning against the wall. Grace had dressed herself like a man once again. She felt it did not suit for her to dress like a lady given that she was not one.
“ He’s about our age isn’t he?”
-
Astra walked Tora down to the park, taking in her surrounding. She passed a few downworlders, but they gave her a wide berth. She assumed because of the tiger. -
"Twarby," Seth said. Then he saw Grace's clothes. It always made him uncomfortable when she dressed like a man. He should be used to it by now, but he wasn't. "You'll have to put a glamour on if you plan to go out today," he said. Then before she could interrupt, he said, "You know you'll be put into an asylum if you're seen by mundanes dressed like that."
~~~
"Is there something you want?" Matthew asked. He scolded himself in his head. He sounded rude and dismissive. -
"How do you know I'll like them?" Androw protested. "They're probably all tightly knit. What makes you think they even want to meet me?"
"Don't be so pessimistic, son," his father replied. "Give them a chance."
~
Erissa was shocked by his dismissive tone. "Er," she said, not expecting his attitude. "Well, yes, actually. You seem.." She hesitated, unsure of how to talk to him without frustrating him further. "..Interesting?" -
"Or something like that," Seth added.
~~~
Matthew made the fist smile he'd made in months. "Interesting?" he said. "I apologize for my rudeness. I haven't been at my best lately." -
“ I know, I know, as I am reminded every time I dare to leave the institute during the day. I will change when I choose to leave, however why be uncomfortable in the comfort of my home?” Grace says as she begins to walk towards the entrance to await the arrival of their guests.
-
Astra stopped by a lake to admire the water. She sat with her legs in the lake and Tora by her side. She noticed a women staring at her in shock that slowly became horror. Astra recognised the women as a mundane, an oddly familiar mundane but definitely not a downworlder. -
(she forgot to put a glamour on)
-
( if you meant Grace, she’s not leaving the institute yet.
If you meant Astra then, she does in fact have one on I’m sorry, I forgot to say that she had ) -
(I meant Astra. I was just noticing that the mundane noticed her. Unless this mundane has the Sight without knowing it)
-
"Fine," Androw hissed under his breath.
The pair sat in silence for the rest of the ride. Androw was rather stubborn in nature, and his father could tell his mood was sour.
When they finally arrived to the Institute, Androw had calmed down. He knew his father was right; he ought to give these other hunters a chance.
~
Erissa relaxed when she saw the smile. Good, she thought, he's not as mad as I thought. I can still play! "Oh, I see. I'm very sorry to hear that." -
Seth resisted the urge to roll his eyes as Grace walked away. He left his room, and made his way to the front doors. They would probably be arriving soon. He didn't know what they'd be like, but he wasn't going to judge until he actually met them.
~~~
"May I ask what you meant by interesting?" Matthew asked as he walked closer to her. Having a conversation 20 feet from each other wasn't very convenient for the other person, or himself, and yelling across the space wasn't quite a good idea either. -
Grace leaned against the wall. Proper ladies didn’t do that. She didn’t understand all of the rules she had to follow. A woman first and a shadow hunter second. She had often wondered what it would have been like, had she been born a man. It certainly would have been more fitting.
Grace shook her head and began to pay more attention, “ wonder when they’ll be here.”
-
Astra blinked as she focused more on the woman. It seems she was partially wrong. She recognised the woman as Elizabeth’s subjugate. Astra stood up. She clicked gently to entice Tora to stand up. She didn’t want to deal with her ex in any capacity today. Or ever. -
Androw and his father stepped out of the carriage. He gazed up at it, fascinated. He forced himself look at it both in and out of glamour, slightly grinning at the sight.
"Androw," his father said, breaking him from his focus. "Come. They're waiting."
Androw hastily followed his father up the steps to the front doors.
~
As he approached her, she tensed, slightly nervous. If he wasn't a mundane, he might realize she's a Fey and take off the other direction. Still, there was always the chance... "You looked rather.. Sad? Like you don't have.. Purpose." -
Seth got to the front door, and saw Grace there, leaning against the wall. He looked at the door, and waited for there to be any sign from the door that they had arrived.
~~~
"I've been thrown into something," Matthew said carefully. "And it's terrifying me. I don't know what to do about it, or where to turn." -
“ they’re here.” Grace said excitedly. “ I know little of Mr. twarby, other than he is close to us in age.” She explains. “ As you well remember, I care little for formalities, regardless of if it is the proper thing to do.” She reminds. Grace makes no effort to stand.
-
Astra became keenly aware of a second subjugate, and she began to pick up her pace, choosing to take refuge at her friends townhouse in London. She was certain that he subjugates wouldn’t dare follow her inside. -
Androw's father knocked on the door, tipping his hat back a bit.
"Why not open it yourself?" Androw asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Formalities, Androw," he replied. "You wouldn't want a guest opening your door willy-nilly, would you?"
"I suppose not," he murmured in response. He stared at the doors, wondering who would come to open them.
~
"Oh, dear," Erissa said, slowly stepping closer. She looked very interested. "What is this... Something?"
