I’m so excited!

(ok, I'm starting this now)

Seth Larkspear expertly threw his dagger, and watched as it got lodged into the target. He aimed with the second one he had in his hand, and did the same. It ended up exactly where he wanted, right next to the first. He walked over to the target and yanked out the throwing daggers. Not bad for not practicing for awhile. He hadn't bothered to change into his gear. He put his daggers away, and walked to the library. He pulled out a book at random, sat on a cushioned chair, and started reading. None of the words went into his brain, though.

Matthew Henderson was also thinking. How his life had changed so much. He had . . . been turned into some sort of . . . infernal being. A werewolf. He had turned into one two times now, and they had both been the most horrific experiences of his life. He hadn't left his house for weeks. At least while he was still a human. He would end up in the strangest places when he was changed back from a wolf. The first few days after he had been bitten, he'd get dark glances from people with pale skin, that seemed almost unearthly. Then he stayed in his house.
He couldn't stay in here forever, he knew. He'd already broken his front door multiple times. He bit his lip, and reached a decision. He made himself look presentable to be seen in public, and walked out the door. -
Grace Kingsthorn had hidden herself away in the institutes library. She wanted to do a bit more research on a particular demon. She’d heard rumours of some odd happenings in downtown London. Nothing dangerous had occurred yet, but she wanted to rule out demons completely. Her guess was that an uppity Warlock had gotten bold and decided to start selling more of their wares to mundanes in order to gain a little more wealth. Grace had come to despise Warlocks like that, using their abilities to turn a fast profit, she thought them careless.

Hidden away in a sunlit room, was such a warlock. Astra bright as she was most commonly known, in England at least, had returned home from an outing with an acquaintance. A young warlock with quite an addiction to gambling. Personally, she found the very idea of throwing away money on such...frivolous activities was not enticing to her. She preferred to spend her days attending tea parties, and balls hosted by friends and strangers alike. She had been given an invitation to such an event, hosted by a vampire. She would attend, out of courtesy of course, -
Androw was sitting on his bed, flipping through the pages of an old book. He wasn't really reading it; just trying to give himself something to do while waiting. His parents had planned to take him to the Institute that day, but they hadn't set a particular time. He felt like he had been flipping page after page for what seemed like ages. When he heard footsteps approaching his door, he perked up, tossing the book aside and rising.

Erissa strolled along the streets of London, her hands clasped behind her back. With each step, she hummed, glancing around at all of the people that she passed. The streets were bustling with life, as Londoners seemed to always have things to do and places to go. She occasionally met eyes with a few Downworlders, but they made every effort to move away from her. She sighed, tossing her head back to look up at the sky. How would she find someone to bother if everyone was too busy to even look at her? -
Seth still had the book open, but wasn't really reading it. Honestly, his brain today was acting awfully. He couldn't concentrate on anything. So he was just staring into space at the book, not moving from the page he was on. His mind was just blank. Then he realized that he wasn't actually reading, just staring at the page. So he tried to read, but the words didn't register in his mind. He started getting annoyed at himself. He couldn't even read a simple book today? He sighed and set the book aside.

Matthew stepped outside. It was late afternoon, but the city was a dismal gray. He hadn't been out of his house in such a long time.
He didnt't know when he would change into a monster next. He had also been . . . emotionally unstable lately, which was another reason why he had isolated himself. But he couldn't handle much more of it. He decided to go to the nearby park, and started heading in that direction. -
Grace sighed as she opted to venture out to the kitchens to see if she could coax the cook to provide her with an afternoon snack. Grace had never been a proper young lady, and so she did not view it as in her best interests to pretend to be one when it came to meal times. If she was hungry, why not eat?

Astra looked out of her window, observing her grounds, until deep purring distracted her. She turned towards her darling kitty. “ ah Tora.” The warlock said fondly as she scratched under the chin of her orange companion. “ Have you been behaving my lovely? Not chasing my peacocks again were you?” She asks as the large cat nuzzles her. “ Such a good Girl. “ Astra praises. -
The door swung open to reveal his father, who asked, "Are you ready to go, Androw?"
"Of course," Androw replied, adjusting his coat and giving his father a warm smile. "I was practically born ready."
His father turned on his heels and began to walk down the hall. Androw hurried after him, eager to get to the carriage and depart. As they made their way through the house, his father started to talk about the family that owned the Institute and the names of the Hunters that resided there, but Androw blocked him out. He didn't really care for such information; he would just re-learn it when he got there, anyway.

The Fey walked for quite some time, scanning the crowd for someone- anyone- to approach. It was starting to feel like her search was going to be a lost cause until she saw him; a boy who looked extremely anxious, like he was scared of something. Intrigued, she began to follow him, keeping her distance in hopes that she wouldn't alarm him of her presence. -
Grace’s journey down to the kitchen’s turned out to not be in vain, as she was able to gain some leftover’s from lunch.
She thanked the cook before she carried her snack off to the dining room.
She was unladylike, certainly, but she would prefer not to mess up any of their precious books. She sat at the table, to eat and think over what she had been researching.

“ Alright agora, give me your paw sweetie.” Astra cooed. The tiger instead lazily flopped onto the floor, as if the presence of the albino warlock meant very little to her.
“ What a rude lady you are, give me your law.” Astra repeats calmly. Eventually the Tiger raises her paw, and Astra shakes it.
“ there my dear, much more intelligent than that mutt from last weekend.” She mused. “ Henrietta will be crushed.” -
(We're all bookworms, huh?)
Seth got up. Maybe some sleep would help rejuvenate his bran. Except for the fact that he hadn't been sleeping much lately. Something was wrong with him, but he didn't know what. He wandered the familiar halls until he recognized the door to his room. He walked in and fell on the bed in hopes to catch some sleep.

Matthew soon saw the green trees of the park, and decided to try forgetting about this whole werewolf business. It had been the only thing on his mind for months. He didn't know why he would get such glances from those pale-skinned folks, or why they stayed in the shadows as much as possible . . . now there he was thinking about it again. He sighed, and kept on walking. -
(Lmao, I didn't even realize most of our characters were handling books until I re-read everyone's responses)
His father continued to ramble as their lone servant pulled up with the carriage. The two climbed inside. When Androw sat down, he finally spoke up. "Will mother be joining us?"
"Later," his father replied. "She had an errand to run. Told us to go on ahead."
"Hm," Androw replied, slumping in his seat. The Institute wasn't too far, but he wasn't sure how much more of his father's voice he could bear to listen to. Luckily, his father got less chatty as the carriage rolled forward, starting towards their destination.

Erissa followed the stranger as he entered a nearby park. Her curiosity peeked; people would wander aimlessly about in parks if they had a lot to think about. Perhaps she could have a bit of fun with this lonely stranger. She continued to follow him, plotting how to approach. She couldn't quite tell if he was a mundane or something else just off of his appearance. -
Seth figured out after about five minutes that sleep wouldn't come. Then he suddenly remembered that there were people coming that day. An Andrew, or and Andy, maybe an Arthur? He couldn't remember, but he knew it started with an 'a.' He perked up a little, then. This person might not go a him because he was found as a shadowhunter and not born into all the traditions and runes, and the like. Who knew?
~~~
Matthew was finally able to rid himself of those thoughts, and was at complete peace. Until he had the feeling that someone was watching him. he turned around quickly, but saw no one. He was probably just being paranoid. But he still had that feeling . . . -
Grace had a feeling she was forgetting about something, and so she stood up and began to search for Seth. She knocked on the door to his bedroom.
“ Seth? It’s Grace.” She said lightly. “ Is anything happening today? I was so absorbed in my book that I completely forgot what we were told...if anything.” Grace explains.
I’m truth she was reading under the table during meal time, and thus hadn’t listened at all, beyond that something was going on that day.
-
Astra then had an idea. “ why don’t we go on a little walk.” The warlock said, calmly. The tiger covered her face with her paws as if to say ’ what is this crazy lady doing.’ Astra clipped a leash and collar around her neck before glamouring her to appear as a dog to any mundanes she passed by.
With that Astra began the walk towards the park. -
After a while, Androw's father piped up again, but this time the conversation was rather unavoidable.
"I really want you to try and get to know the other hunters today," he started, staring firmly at Androw. "We've let you.. Train alone as you wanted for as long as possible, but.. Your mother and I are concerned."
"Concerned?" Androw echoes, arching an eyebrow. "About what?"
"It's important to make connections and alliances as a Shadowhunter. Being alone is too dangerous. And, well— you know how much your mother and I run about helping the others. It's time you get involved and have a group of people you work well with."
Androw scoffed, looking out the window to avoid eye contact. He knew his father was right, but he hated the idea of trying to get to know anybody at all. He wasn't so sure if getting close to someone was something he wanted to do.
~
When the boy suddenly looked for her, Erissa barely had time to duck behind a tree. She, of course, wasn't sure why that had been her instinct— if he was mundane, her glamour was up. But.. She wasn't so sure what he was. The more she studied him, the less she seemed to know. She stepped out from behind the tree. It was probably now or never, she decided. "Hello!" Erissa called out, willing herself to be seen. She was a few feet away from him now, so she hoped it wouldn't freak him out too much. -
Seth heard Grace's voice talking to him through the door. He walked over o the door and opened it. "We have someone coming today," Seth said, looking down at Grace. "An Andrew, I think they said. I believe he is to be living here now."
~~~
Matthew turned around again when he heard a voice. He saw a woman there, who looked unearthly, but moved with a certain grave. As if life was just one long movement. There was something about her though that didn't seem quite human, though. "Hello," he replied.
