"You see that tower back there?" She whispered. "That's where our staircase most likely is. But there's also definitely going to be someone in there." She took a chance and peeked over the wall into the main courtyard, where a group of around fifty people stood idly, as if they were waiting for an announcement. "Huh?"
-
Dorvakin looked at the tower and was about to asked how she would know that and how would she know the prince wouldn't be in the dungeon, when she took the peak. Seeing her confused look, he peaked as well to see the same thing.
-
Tjruna watched silently as a relatively well-dressed man entered the courtyard from one of the largest buildings. Followed by two guards, he approached the crowd and stood on a small stone platform. "My friends!" He called out, silencing the crowd. He gave an odd sort of salut that the crowd returned. "Today is a very important day for our humble order!" Tjruna listened intently as he spoke.
"I want everyone to be on the highest alert! Today's the day we hand over that rotton heir and receive the money we rightfully deserve!" A cheer rang up from the crowd, with several voices calling for the man to kill the heir. He shook his head and raised his hands, silencing the crowd again. "Now now, I wish to see the little punk dead as well, but it is further in our interests to see him handed over to our contractor." -
Dorvakin whispered "Contractor? Someone paid them for this?"
-
"The king has many enemies. I'm sure one of them was more than willing to pay someone else to do the dirty work." Tjruna whispered back. The man had begun reminding the crowd various location to provide extra security at.
"Remember," He said. "If anyone else knows of this trade then they'll surely attempt to take the heir for themselves. This could be the most important day in the Order's history. And it's all possible thanks to Matyuk and Seriln!" The two guards behind him, a many and a woman, raised a fist as he introduced them. "Without these two, we'd never have captured the heir. You all have something to learn from them!" A man emerged from another one of the buildings and whispered something into the leader's ear. He scowled. "Get to your posts. Make sure no one enters that dungeon without my permission!" -
Dorvakin whispered "So they ambushed the carriage and the heir is in the dungeon. Now the question is where is it?"
-
"I can make a good guess." Tjruna said, pointing to a series of grates on the ground. "Now the real question is how do we get down there?"
-
Dorvaskin said "And another question could be why is the dungeon out in the open? Later I guess." He then thought and said "Perhaps we could camouflage ourselves as the guards and sneak in."
-
"Good idea." Tjruna said, realizing she'd never really had to deal with sneaking multiple people into-and by extent out of a dungeon before. "Now then, if I were an armory, where would I be?" She muttered, surveying the courtyard.
-
Dorvakin looked around and said "You'd be over there." He pointed to a building with picture of armor over the door. He said "Seems a little obvious but it might be a good place to start."
-
Tjruna scoffed. "These guys are amateurs." She notice a large vine climbing the fort walls just behind the armory. "There's our way down." Keeping low as not to be seen, Tjruna led the way around the wall to where the vine grew, and after ensuring that no one would see them behind the building, she quickly hoisted herself over the wall and climbed down the vine.
-
Dorvakin followed her and made sure not to be seen. He wondered if any of the Blades knew the Guild exists but didn't worry too much.
-
Once Dorvakin had joined her, Tjruna turned her attention to a window high on the armory wall, just big enough for a person to crawl through. "Give me a boost?" She asked, gesturing.
-
Dorvakin nodded and cupped his hands for Tjruna to boost up to the window.
-
With Dorvakin's help, Tjruna hoisted herself through the window and into the empty armory. After blocking the door, she pulled a crate to the window and stood on it, reaching down to pull Dorvakin up.
