Dorvakin said "It's possible. We followed the directions we were given. What else could it be?"
-
Tjruna nodded and cautiously entered the trees. It only took a few minutes to get to the other side of the trees, where she stood at the edge of a small orchard that surrounded an average sized stone fortress. "This must be it."
-
Dorvakin nodded and said "So what's the plan to get in? It has to be guarded pretty well considering who they are holding."
-
Tjruna crouched, pulling Dorvakin down with her as she watched a group of five people, all dressed the same as the man from the ambush, approach the front gate. After a brief conversation with the gatekeeper, the gates were opened and the group entered. The gate closed swiftly behind them. "So the front door's not an option." She looked up at the wall. "No guards up top. Do you feel like risking it?"
-
Dorvakin looked at the walls and wondered how tall they were and if anyone would see them climb up or down it. He then said "I believe so but we best be careful. And stealthy."
-
"We should find a spot that's out of sight of that front gate there." She nodded to the gate, which appeared to be the only spot where guards were positioned. "This place relies too heavily on its magical barrier."
-
Dorvakin nodded and said "I see a spot over there." and he pointed to a distant spot that was out of sight of the guards.
-
"Good eye." She began to slowly head in that direction, keeping behind the cover of the orchard.
-
Dorvakin walked with her, keeping the same cover.
-
As soon as Tjruna wa sure they were out of sight of the guards, she stood up and examined the bricks in the wall. "It'll be hard to scale this. It's been a while for me, but at least there's not a moat under this one." She turned to Dorvakin. "Have you scaled many walls, or is the Guild more of a 'blast through the front door' protocol?"
-
Dorvakin said "If we blasted through things, we wouldn't be very stealthy, would we? I think I can scale it."
-
"Let's put that to test." Tjruna bit the handle of her knife and started to scale the wall. The bricks were rounded slightly on the edges, which made finding her grip difficult, but once she got into a rhythm she climbed with ease.
-
Dorvakin did the same thing Tjruna did but with a little more difficulty and a little slower than she was going. He wished he had brought his grappling hook for ease. What a time to think he didn't need it.
-
Tjruna stopped just before she reached the top and waited for Dorvakin to catch up. Holding to the wall with tone hand, she took her knife out of her mouth. "I'm going to do some quick surveillance," She whispered. "If it's safe, I'll let you know and we can go ahead. If not, I'll drop off the wall and we'll find another way in." She returned her knife to her mouth and slowly lifted herself to peek over the edge of the wall. A path went around the top of the wall and led to a tower at the back of the fort, where she assumed the stairs must be. There was a short wall on either side of the path, and since nobody seemed to be on the wall Tjruna pulled herself all the way over and ducked down.
-
Dorvakin nodded and watched her movements. Once he saw her go over the wall, he went over it as well, to prevent being left behind.
